Today I went on a mini-expedition with eight of my Antarctica comrades flagging. Our expedition was composed of two teams, the "A" team or the "Antarctic Alligators" which consisted of Dennis, Aaron, Russell and Cory while the "B" team or the "Barking Dogs" and consisted of Russ, Beth, David, Gary and me. Our journey began around 8:00 A.M. this morning at the BFC (Berg Field Center). After packing our gear we jammed into two sprytes and headed for the transition to the Ross Ice Shelf where we would make use of two skidoos to complete our polar motorcade.

Our flagging officially began around 10:30 A.M. and ended at the Antarctica KOA campground at 5:15 P.M., just in time for dinner. During the flagging voyage we shared the tasking equally. We all took turns riding the skidoos and driving the sprytes. Our return trip took approximately 3 1/2 hours from the KOA to McMurdo. We were fortunate to see an incredible sunset on the ice shelf complete with a full spectral display.
