Working Outside
This morning Dennis, Valerie and I set out to count the supplies in our
outside storage areas know as the cargo lines. The winds were blowing steadily
at 30 mph and the ambient temperature hovered just above -10F. The evil
synergy of these two conditions resulted in really miserable conditions for
counting, I think I heard Dennis say the windchill was around -70F. We
remained outside for about one hour, by the time we returned to the Crary
Lab frozen moisture from my breath formed a layer of white on the outside of my
jacket. Today was the first time I could actually feel the wind cut through
my bright red Antarctic Parka.
Upon returning to the lab this morning, we were treated to a loaf a delicious
bread, made by our resident bread baker, Beth. It was savory!

Here we are, Dennis, Val and me!
Before.

After.
