Sunrise today was at 9:15 A.M. McMurdo Time, sunset will be 4:45 this evening. The picture of the ice edge was taken at 12:30 P.M. today from the upper level of the Crary Lab. The open water has been the cause of quickly acculating snow in and around McMurdo. People who have been here in the past tell me that the several inches of snow accumulation we've been getting is really extraordinary. The ice edge extends from Hut Point, home to one of Scott's huts.
