The best route is an international flight to Istanbul from your country of residence and from Istanbul, a connecting flight to ERCAN in Northern Cyprus (the only international airport in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). Turkish Airlines offers a 50% student discount to students studying in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Therefore, it is advised that you may travel by Turkish Airlines to Turkey. Book your flight to Ercan in Northern Cyprus from your place of residence through THY and go through Istanbul as a transit passenger. You may purchase your Istanbul-Ercan ticket at Istanbul Airport at a discount but it is not advised for first timers as delays in any of the flight might cause unnecessary problems.
From the airport, bus services to Gazi Magusa (the place where the University is situated) are available after every flight. A taxi may also be taken but is expensive.
