There is a wide range of sports activities that the students may participate in including basketbal, cricket, handball, soccer, table tennis and long tennis. EMU has its own Cricket Club, the Akdeniz Lancers. These clubs take part in inter-univerisity competitions both in Northern Cyprus and in Turkey. The students of EMU may also take part in a variety of other extra-curricular activities like art, ceramics, chess, cinema, drama and animation, folklore, journalism, literature, music and photography. The movie clubs of EMU regularly show a host of popular and classic films. Radio EMU, the university's own student-run FM station broadcasts musical and cultural programes. Seminars and conferences on various topics are frequently held by the faculty, students and invited guest. The University holds an annual International Spring Festival with various cultural and popular programmes, events and stalls.
