The island of Cyprus is located only 65 kms off the coast of Turkey. There are regular flights to North Cyprus from Turkish cities including, Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. There are also ferry services between Gazi Magusa and Girne in North Cyprus to Mersi and Tasucu respectively in Turkey.

North Cyprus with a population of 170,000 has three major cities: the capital Lefkosa, Gazi Magusa and Girne, a scenic town. Its coasts are dotted with sandy beaches and holiday resorts.

With a rich cultural, historical and archeological heritage, Cyprus is at the cross-roads of east and west. The late Bronze Age site of Enkomi, the famous tower of Shakespear's Othello and the ancient city and port of Salamis are but a few of the major historical and archeological sites. North Cyprus also has numerous old Byzantine churches, Crusader castles, Ottoman mosques and the oldest commercial shipwreak in the world.
