Kevin was born on
3th October 1971 at 9.00 a.m. in Lexington, Kentucky / USA.
When Kev was really young, he has sung to a hairbrush in front of the mirror.
His hobbies: bodybuilding, composing songs, surfing, basketball, swimming, dancing, football, music, acting, travelling.
Kev says he isn't afraid to show his emotions: "I cry in movie theatres all the time. I get that from my grandfather - we're a real sentimental family. Brian's like that as well. When we got our first gold record we bawled like little babies!"
Kevin dedicated BsB's first album "Backstreet Boys" to his father, who died of a cancer.
He likes rugby, hockey and basketball.
Kev takes an envelope filled with pictures of his family when he goes on the road.
If you ever get romantically linked with Kev, make sure you don't flirt with anyone while he's around - "If she's playing games then there's no point in going on. She can play games with someone else!".
About 30 minutes before appearing on stage, Train gets the other Backstreets to warm up
with a spot of a capella singing.
Before BSB Kevin used to be Aladdin in the Disney World parade and he also doubled as a Ninja Turtle. He also taught ballroom dancing lessons and sang in restaurants and at the weddings.
Some newspaper has written that Kev was fighting with Bobby Brown. It was at a club in Florida. He, A.J., Nick, Howie and B-Rok was having fun. When they wanted to leave the club, Brown said that Kev is standing on his way. Kev was calm, but after a few minutes they started to fight. Kev reputedly won!
One of his nicknames is Boo Boo!
Train's favourite movie stars are Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and his favourite bands are: Boys II Men, New Edition, Colour Me Bad, Jodecy, Prince, Elton John, George Michael.
Kev was engaged when he was 19 years old, but it seems she wasn't the one for him.
Mr. Richardson is planning for the future. Kev has recently set up his own estate agency. He wants also to work with his mother - "I want her to be part of my company so she can quit her job in the department store, work with me and be with me".
Kevin shared an apartment near Universals Studios with Brian and Howie.
When he was nine he discovered he could play the piano by ear. "I clunked away at the piano and found I could pick out notes from songs I'd heard on the radio. From then on I spent hours on my own just letting my fingers feel their way across the keys. I'd hear a song and pretty soon I could play it."
Kev hates people who are arrogant.
He would love to star in a film on day.
When Kevin meets a girl, he doesn't like to feel like the member of the biggest band in the world. He said: "Sometimes I say I'm a businessman and sometimes that I'm in the entertainment business. I don't want people to think I'm arrogant and being a total show off about it."
Kev isn't crazy about being on tour. He confesses: "I miss having all my things around me and being able to do what I like. I miss normality sometimes."
What he says about himself? "I'm shy guy, sometimes I think too much about what I'm going to say to somebody or what they're going to think."
Kevin is a qualified ballroom dance instructor and he spent 8 years of his life living in a log cabin.
Kev was on premiere "Never Been Kissed" and that brought him back some memories: "I had a great time at High School. I was performing with the band 'Paradise', in theater and playing football. It was wonderful. I'm still in touch with two of my best friends. They're also musicians."
Kevin was a judge at selections of Miss America. He voted mainly for Miss Tennesse.
Reputedly Kev also has a girlfriend! All I know is that she got blonde hair and that she was behind the scenes, when BSB performed in Orlando on 31st December'98.
"I really like 'Larger Than Life'. It's all about the fans' reaction to the music, the way they act when we play certain songs and how they've supported us over the years. It's kind of like a dedication to them for all their support. It's about how being a celeb isn't always what it's made out to be, how it's not always perfect. It brings back lots of happy memories and is about how they're 'larger than life'..."
"It's hard to be away from the family. That's why I've always so big phone bills. Especially I talk a lot with my mum. She helps me keep myself grounded."
"We have so many people around us that keep us grounded. Our families are always around - and they won't let us get away with too much! When we meet the fans it pits everything into perspective for us - I mean, we don't want people to think we're a bunch of fools. We do have feelings - like, every time we do meet and greets with children who are disadvantaged, it really tears us apart and makes us realise how blessed we are."
"I like girls who have a cute smile and a good sense of humour. And she has to dress sexy but classy. When I see her it makes me go 'Wow!'".
"When someone goes after the same writers and producers you've been working with, who've helped you create an original sound that's your own, when other bands try to get the same vibe, that's very annoying."
"I've made some improvements on my house. I've been laying tiles and hardwood flooring. I really don't get a chance to do that kind of work myself as there just isn't the time, but I do enjoy it. My brother helps me out a lot. When I was younger I used to tear down log cabins and help my father with work like that. You know, I'm quite handy!"
