THE PERFECT MARGARITA

The perfect margarita is as simple as can be - just shun
any prepared margarita mix and use a good-quality tequila.

Salt the rim of the glass you wish to use,
but bear in mind that the salt will mask the taste of the tequila.
Chilled glasses make a nice touch.

1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
1 ounce fresh lime juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well.
Pour into a glass and serve with slices of lime. Repeat as needed.

PASS THE SALT
If you wish to salt the rim of your margarita glass, the best method is as follows:
Sprinkle a few tablespoons of salt on a dry paper towel. Wet rim of your empty glass and turn it upside down on the salt, giving it a few twists to distribute the salt around the rim.
A coarse-grained salt, such as a kosher salt or a medium sea salt, works well.
