Lake Mead Trip Summer 1999
The summer of 1999 was fun and very
busy. Ratih allowed me to go to a number of cool places including
Baja and Lake Mead. This is our second annual trip to the lake, and
as always it was fun, but hot. In case you don't know, Lake
Mead is a beautiful lake caused by Hoover
Dam and is located near Las
Vegas. It is a great place to go camping, jet skiing, wake boarding,
water-skiing and cliff diving. Summer conditions tend to be hot,
which makes the water very inviting.

This years trip was a great trip just
as the last, however we had problems at the camp site. We had a couple
thousand dollars worth of gear stolen at the site. This sucked cause
all we had were the clothes on our back, which for me was surf trunks and
a rash guard lycra skin tight T-shirt. George got hit the worst and
probably lost $1000.00 worth of camping gear.

Having a jet ski made the trip fun,
not only could we go skiing, we could just cruise around looking for beautiful
places which would have taken hours to reach on foot. One of the
places had a nice place to jump from.

The
cliff jumping was fun as always, and we went higher and farther than last
year. We also added a new activity to our trip. We went snorkeling
and found all kinds of treasure. What an incredible experience, like
being a kid with your first set of swim goggles. I cant wait
to have to take Ratih and Oshean along in the future

Beside the natural beauty of the
area, Hover Dam
is a fun place to visit as well as the casinos at State Line or in Las
Vegas.
