PRESENT
TIME
I
have had a two year break from skate boarding, but have started up again
since we lived only two minutes from the Magddalena
Ecke YMCA Skate Park (IT RULES). I once skated mostly street,
but now I skate all the ramps from 4' to 12'. I am learning fast
and I enjoy the feeling.
Since
Ratih and I moved to California we have been trying to do allot of fun
things. I have tried to teach her to ride a skateboard, and she has
done well. I hope to continue teaching after our baby is born, if
we are not to busy.

I
am sorry this may not be so exciting for the hard-core skateboarder.
I have included some links for other more exciting sites. I have
been skateboarding since I was 17 years old. I had first started
to snowboard, and then realized skateboarding looked like a good form of
cross training. I had a hard time learning, and like most people
it took me at least a year to learn how to ollie. The first skate
friend I had was Nate from downtown Milwaukee ( don't know where he is
now).

I also spent
much time with Matt Krueger trying to learn how to ride ramp. I never
succeeded, and soon took to the streets. When I went to college I
learned the most, thanks to my roommate, Mark Mathias. He was quite
an inspiration, I think he was a genius skater.
These
are some pictures from my College days in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Mark Mathias
was my roommate at college, and my mentor. He was one of the best
skaters I have been friends with. He would do everything big.
He may have not been the most technical, but he went big. I enjoyed
skating with him because I could learn easily. We got into so much
trouble on campus. We had the cops chasing us all the time.
One time three cops came after us, another time they almost ran us over
with their car. Here are some more photos of Mark.
