I had been looking for some MUD all day long. I followed a few others down to Garner Lake Rd. and saw this mud puddle off to the right. I was hesitant at first to drive in. But then there was this voice that came across the CB that said "C'mon Diane, you've been bitchin' all day about no mud and here it is"! So, feeling a bit of peer pressure, I decided to drive through the mud puddle and to my surprise, there was a 4 ft drop off! DOH. The whole front of my truck went down, the motor died instantly and all kinds of water started pouring in through the floor boards. I grabbed everything I could off the floor. Luckily, I don't have any carpets! I was up on my seat yelling to others to please get me outta there! The water came up to the seat and covered both the clutch and brake pedals. Yikes!!

I was soon pulled out to dry land again. Thanks to Eric's Bronco and everyone else that came to my rescue! The truck started right up with no problem, but when I shut it off, it didn't want to start again. The starter was a little unhappy. There were 14 us of and while I got to sit inside and steer, everyone else pushed me forward and backward into a 5-point turn so that I could face down hill and bump start the motor, which I did. Keeping it running was tricky, considering that the carb liked to flood out on the hills. After getting back up the hill to the flat meadow area, I parked the Ford and went for a ride in a TJ.

Notice all the muddy water pouring out of the cab after Chad opened my door. Later that afternoon, the starter was working again and has been ever since.
Somewhere there are a few videos of this whole episode..................
