SALSA
This is a wonderfully basic and fresh sauce.
Serve with tacos, scrambled eggs or omelette, or tortilla chip dip.
It's very good, too, with small steaks just plainly broiled.
1 tomato (about 6 ounces)
1/2 medium onion
6 sprigs cilantro
3 fresh green chiles or to taste (chiles jalapenos)
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/3 cup cold water
Chop all ingredients finely. Do not skin tomato or seed the chile.
Add the salt and water. Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups salsa.
