This beast features a few modifications
to help it along in the hills of Colorado where it stomps around. Motivating
the beast is a 423 cubic inch '69 351w block, with Eagle forged rods and
Ross pistons, custom solid lifter cam, ported Twisted Wedge alum. heads,
mustang style multiport fuel injection with a C&M Calibrator modifying
the stock EEC-IV computer. Sitting behind that is a Butch Brooks built
C4 mated to a stock dana 20, connected by custom length driveshafts with
a detroit locked nodular 9" in the rear and a 3/16" ujointed Dana 44 with
TruTrac up front turning 36" TSL Super Swampers. Flairs are Wild Horses
urethanes, spread and mounted higher for clearance. A 1" body lift complements
the 3.5" Rockcrawler suspension package including 11 leaf Nat'l springs
and Jim's custom front coils from Wild Horses reputed to ramp 1000 rti.
An F150 ps box mated to a custom, two ujoint steering shaft turn the front
end, which features a custom winch bumper and a Warn 9000 winch and a High
Country fiberglass hood. Protecting the custom 24 gallon fuel tank is a
High Country reciever bumper with a swing away tire carrier, coated with
RhinoLiner the same color as the Rhino in the interior. Toyota MR2 reclining
bucket seats hold the driver in comfort as he stores his valuables in a
Masterrac locking console while listening to tunes in the 200wpc cd sound
system with 15" woofers behind the seats. A full roll cage protects the
occupants and holds a fire extinguisher in case of emergencies. A Mallory
tach/rev limiter stares the pilot while he cruises down the trails in comfort,
pulling out other rigs or hooking up a snatch strap to the Beast to get
it out of trouble again. (Better equipment means you get stuck deeper..)

Ok here`s the deal. this is my 2nd 77. The
first one bit the dust at a stoplight : ( But here I go again. At
this time the blue 77 is mostly stock. No lift, just flares and 32x11.50's.
But it still goes almost anywhere you point it. Im slowly transforming
it into a bulletproof ride. Next comes the mild 302 out of my red one,
and then the NP435 tranny and NP 205 transfer case, with custom crossmember
and driveshafts. By the time this is posted I will be done w/the motor
and tranny swap. Next comes a small 2" lift. After that come the 33's and
cosmetics. But till then, I'll keep wheeling it as is. Currently its a
stock 302 and C4 with just a little over 100thou. Other pics will follow.
