By the way, I forgot to tell you that I bought a Live Sex Pistols video. 1978, during their US tour through the South. I think you might like it, even if you aren't really that into punk. I mean, I certainly see the appeal of your 50s bondage flicks. It's black and white, just nice weird background chaos. You may like the HORRIBLE video quality. The type on the bottom is written in basic Courier font. (I assumed it was written right off the cheap 70s video cameras they had back then.) And John Rotton just sang like a fucking psychopath. He was jumping around like he was being electricuted. Then, the video also offers commercials for other ancient punk bands. I wish we could both get really stoned tonight and watch it together. Remember how I used to write lists all the time? Here's another one for you. Please send me YOUR personal Musical All-Star Line up as a response. 1. COMPOSITION OF MELODY (musical score only) - Tom Waits. He would set the musical mood. 2. THE MUSICIANS (utilizing their stage talent and performance ability) - The entire musical cast from "The Fall". I would never assume to split up the sound of instrumental artists that already work. I realize that the band members of the Fall individually aren't exactly All-Star material, but with their talents combined, the sound IS pretty damn stunning. 3. VOCALIST - Nick Cave because he sings clear, precise notes, has a magical style and keeps the tone rather dark, the way I like it. 4. LYRICS WRITTEN BY- Jello Biafra of course. 5. TOKEN BASTARD- Sid (to make the performance more violent and entertaining.) I call my band "Pseudomuse" which would mean "fake musical inspiration" if you like Latin. I would like the band to play at The Fenix, (Showbox would be cool too) 11 pm on a Tuesday night. Only Live performances, no albums. Otherwise, all other artistic direction is left up to the band. |
