What the men in my life mean to me:

My Dad: he gave me his heart, and let me take it to Seattle. I think my Dad secretly thinks this city is killing me. He was so scared when he came out here on short notice. But he braved the evil Seattle traffic to be with me when I needed him most. I really can't believe he let me stay here. I already wound up in the mental institute. I remember how Dad helped me pack my entire moving truck in a Wisconsin flash flood. God. I still remember when I last saw him the day I was going to leave. This was after the truck was packed, and I think I drove him home or something. But there, in the rear view window I saw him. He was watching me go away. His youngest. 2000 miles away. And all he could do is wave me away as I went. You Dad, you really gave me everything. Thanks.

Kato: This is my mom's new husband. My parents were a miss match from the beginning. I don't think either of them actually liked bowling, but bowl they did anyway. Happy masked for 18 years. But as much as I hated to see my Dad have to leave the house, I am still glad my mom found Kato. Kato is the coolest, weirdest most boisterous friend for my mom. He showed me there is really perfect men out there for you. Oh, and Kato always took my side over Astrid.

Dawson: My first boyfriend. Ugly as sin, but then so was I in high school. Dawson saw the sex in my fat little shunned life. He motivated me to get a guy I was actually attracted to.

BARRON: my first attractive boyfriend. Barron showed me the evils in the world. Pot, nitris oxide, mushrooms, alcohol, depression, paranoia, bisexuality, bestiality, necrophilia. He gave me an enemy. Brought out my Leo strength. He made me see how ugly a pretty face can be. He showed me I can do what I want, and no one was gonna get in my way.

CLEARY GARRISON: My beloved loyal college professor. Okay. He was just a tough teacher. God. He told me the rules of Art. He was blunt. He made me take criticism and showed me the worth in listening to a professional. Some of those assignments I finished just to show off to Garrison. He hated fakers, and took great pride in the truly great students. Then he handed my career in the computer game industry to me on a silver platter. Got me the interview. All I had to do was show up. He had that much faith in my work. Thanks for my career, and ultimately, thanks for Seattle Cleary!

DAMON: Shit Damon I nearly cried when I realized what it is I love about you so damn much. Remember the tiny, scared, diamond in the rough I was when you first met me? You were the FIRST MAN that made me see what a beautiful woman I was. Because you were right, I was a white bread girl. I just needed some buttering up. simple together. I like my new male consort, Alabama.

EMOROG: Encouraged my wild side where Barron couldn't.

ADRIAN THE CONSCIERGE: He was my first one night stand. He showed me the worth in being chosey with who I lent my pussy to. I never settled for less then perfect after him.

AVERY: first to show me truly great sex. I waited 26 years to feel a real man in me. A friend. His body showed me how tender and creative sex can be. And Avie and I only were together once. Once, Avie. You fucking did it, man. Changed my sex life forever. And it only took you one time to show me.

ALABAMA (Jamison): He's the Avery I have on call here in Seattle. Just fun as hell to fuck Alabama. Finally, a sweet lay. Our friendship is bold and fun and sexual. I have never had casual sex before, and I like it. I like it with Alabama in particular. He's exactly what my body needs.

T: He listened to me. He was the first to offer me his couch when I left Barron. He was the first to see my beautiful details.

CAMERON: I found the mosh pits with Cameron.

CARL: Shuts me up when I need it.

PRIEST: and I think I want to be in love with this man Priest, who I only met once in the mall. He's my mystery man. Priest is bringing the poet out of me. He is showing me how powerful the right words can be. And I don't even remember what he looks like anymore.
