Massive Amounts of Bodywork...
The front bumper and hood were some of the first things we worked on. As you can see we removed the stock bumper and left the bush bumper on. This required re-locating the turn signals so we mounted them in the front of the hood and put light guards over them. The hood was also dented from the windshield bouncing off of it while it was folded down so we pounded out the dents and applied some bondo filler.
Both rear fender corners were dented so we cut out the dents and welded in new metal panels. After welding in the new panels we painted them and then checkerplated the full rear corners.
By far, the hardest and most body work that we did was on the backend. Both fenderwells were rusted out and there was a 1 inch gap between the fender and the fender well. There were also rust holes right through the floor. We cut out the all of the rusted out areas and welded in new metal panels. This was quite a bit of work, welding, forming and grinding the metal. After all the body work was done we spread body-filler over all the corners and seams and then painted the entire interior with Undercoat paint.
The windshield was rusted out quite badly. We cut out all of the rusted areas and welded in new pieces. This was also quite a bit of work. After it was welded and painted we checkerplated the lower half of the window for some extra protection.
