Rampin' tha Zuke

Special thanks to Randy and Mel at Breeze Industries for allowing us to ramp our samurai on their 20 and 30 degree RTI ramp.  These guys are great and will let you test out your rig on the ramp whenever you like.  The best time to catch them is Tuesdays after 5:00 and almost every Saturday.

The 20 Degree Ramp

Because of our short wheelbase we ended up driving the back tire onto the ramp before lifting a tire.  There is a website that will convert your score to different degree ramp scores (click here).  According to it we ramped a 1032 on the 20 degree ramp.

The 30 Degree Ramp

Here we are ramping a 706 on the 30 degree ramp.  We were aired down to 10 psi.  The ramp is a great way to find out what's limiting your suspension travel.  We determined that the front shocks are hampering our travel so we unbolted the front passenger shock and ramped it again.  This time we ramped a 748 which translates to a 1098 on a 20 degree ramp (click here for the conversion).  We're going to be building some missing link shackles fairly soon and will get longer travel shocks then.  We'll see what the ramp has to say then...
