History of Wrestler: Approximately 20 years ago (though the exact date is unknown), there was born unto this world a man, now known as Brahman Welsh, the Banshee...an unwanted child. His earliest hours were spent in suffering, crying aloud to deaf ears as his frail infantile body was left to die by his parents hands in the mountains of Cherokee, NC. By fate's hand, however, the child was saved as a generous married couple, the Welshes, touring the mountains for their vacation...saved, in the broadest sense of the word, as it would later seem.
The couple drove back to their two-story cottage in Salem, Virginia, taking young Brahman with them. They took him in as their own, kept him clean and fed him. After running a check with the authorities, they realized that no one wanted the child, and that the original parents were not going to come back for him...so they made them their own, not a bad twist of fate for the extremely religious couple. To them, their prayers had been answered, for they had tried numerous times to have children of their own, but nature had other plans and they remained unsuccessful. And so they decided to name the child after their extreme religious beliefs, "Brahman"...meaning "wise prophet".
Unbeknownst at the time just how zealous and insane this happily married couple were. Infatuous Christians by day, eccentric Wiccan worship by night, the two lovers were torn between a society that couldn't accept their chosen religion, and a society that demanded chaste and piety. And poor Brahman was caught in the tangled web of these two lunatics, growing more and more maniacal as the years passed, as Brahman grew.
One night, as young Brahman slept, his surrogate father, drunken out of his wits and chanting incoherent cult babblings, approached him with a sacrificial knife...luckily, Brahman was old enough to escape a clumsy attack and ran from the room crying to his surrogate mother, who was also too drunk to care...young Brahman hid in a cabinet under the sink for the night, and that is where he slept.
After that night, no one seemed to recall the incident except Brahman...at least, no one admitted to it. His parents forced him off to church as always, forced him to sing in the choir as always, and kept the otherwise clean image of the perfect family instilled in the minds of all the good townspeople, meanwhile at night, his parents' religious fervor took on new horror as their cult worshipping and demonic rituals became more bizarre. Yet every new morning by day, his parents kept the Christian faith and were the strictest of religious zealots. Which is the reason why when Brahman's father attempted to kill young Welsh again one night after a demonic ritual, he knew he had to run away...no one would ever believe him.
And so off he fled into the night, looking for any warm place to hide for the night. A lad just entering his teens, he had some smarts about him, luckily for him...he found his rest that night sleeping by the cathedral wall, next to the water heater pump...a mental connection for the distressed lad?
Running was all he knew for a while...he ended up in an orphanage many miles away from Salem, back into the mountains of North Carolina. There he stayed until his later teens, unwanted by any families. Of course, new parents wanted younger infants, not a lanky teenager like Brahman. And especially not one who so introverted and silent all the time. But fate's hand played it's way once again into Brahman's life as the manager of a major wrestling federation stopped by the orphanage on his weekly errands. The young lad caught his eye...and it didn't take much persuasion to coax a homeless, unemployed Brahman out of the orphanage and into the skilled hands of a professional wrestling trainer.
The man's name is not important...Brahman was a fast learner, and soon enough he was teaching the trainer things he'd never seen before...after less than a month, Brahman Welsh took down his trainer in an all out wrestling match, much to the dismay of the trainer, whose arm was broken in the match from a lock that Brahman invented...he screamed so loud that the only way Brahman knew how to react was to scream right along, drowning out the faint cry of the trainer with his own powerful voice...and from then on, those who saw the match dubbed him "the Banshee"...and from then on, Brahman's silence was no more. All it took was that one spark of insight, and his career was well on it's way...
Soon after he studied to feed the hunger in his mind...he learned all he could of world religions and cults...time went by, and the stress from years of inner torment grayed his hair at a young age. He tried to socialize in a world of people that could not understand him...he yearned for the love of a woman that never came...he yearned for the peace of mind that never came. And in a maddening breakdown one night, he finally had insight...and he realized his purpose in life. He was the Banshee...his gospel would be heard...and he would bring about the downfall of those like his unrighteous parents...and everyone else who crossed him...he would bring about redemption to a world full of sinners...
