June 29, 2007 Look at all of the current happenings I could blog about. 1. Congress and immigration reform. 2. Hamas and Gaza or 3. Retired Congresswoman Meek accepting freebies from a Developer being helped by current Congressman Meek, her Son.
About this Congressional situation in South Florida. The 17th District in which I ran years ago resembles little the 17th District of today. I complain that the precinct of Hollywood in which I live was drawn into the current 17th District. That is a complaint directed at the Florida Legislature. You put the boundary of the district at US Route 1. You could have put it at the Florida East Coast railroad. Where I live would then have been with the Broward beach crowd, instead of being with the Dade County, near downtown Miami poor crowd. Why didn't you draw the 22nd District about me?
The real problem with Congress is that a Congress person CANNOT represent 650,000 people. One might represent 50,000, maybe. Two small towns. A neighborhood of a city.
How much variation in population, district to district, should be allowed in the interests of containing a Congressional district within the boundaries of parts of a State. Maybe plus or minus 10 percent? Dade County is not Broward County. Should several Congresspersons be representing cross County boundaries districts?
June 21, 2007 Private Community Planning.
I read that the City of Aventura, Miami-Dade County, Florida, has approved some development on the Western side of US Route 1, at the County Line with Broward County. Private money wants to build on some vacant land subject to flooding.
Broward and Miami-Dade counties would be will advised to immediately perform a legislative taking of some land to provide for the obvious need for a right of way for the Dade Metro, and Broward Metro route from the Florida East Coast Railroad Tracks to a transfer station on the grounds of Gulfstream Park Racecourse. You two counties are planning to build modern Metros, are you?

If a Mississippi farmer becomes a truck driver in Irak, the US$ probably return to a Jackson bank. If a Fort Bragg retiree becomes a private guard, the dollars may come to Charlotte. How much of the US money returns to the USA? And how much goes to London? And to European banks?
June 08, 2007 There is something wrong with the monetary system of the Unites States. I think I know how to fix it.
It got that way on the watch of Sir Ronald, and Sir George HW, and Sir Allen, and Rhodes Scholar Bill; the Rhodes Scholarships to Oxford being aimed a unity of the British Empire, and the Sirhoods having been awarded for having made decisions in conflict situations involving the United States and the United Kingdom, in such a way so as not to do too much damage to the UK.
Isn't there some way to take the citizenship of the United States away from Sir Allen, and to prevent him from ever entering the USA again?
Bill, can't you get yourself appointed to a chair at Oxford. Take Hillary with you. This nation does not need another British Governor General.
May 11, 2007 Want to know what the Irak war is about?
I have been a University teacher, but I have never had the title Professor, (or Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor), but you could say I have been a professor (with a small p, in American English). Professors profess things. So consider this to be a professing.
This war did not come out of Wall Street; nor out of Laurel, Maryland; nor out of McLean, Virginia; nor out of Arlington County, Virginia. This war came out of London.
The British did a little soft shoe dance, and claimed to know more about Shities than the USA, and asked for the zone of occupation at Basra.
And of course the British Oil Companies, Royal Shell, or British Petroleum would work the Basra oil fields.
Also, what was supposed to happen was to conquer the country and turn it over to the Irak refugee community in Britain.
Want to investigate it? Call the executives of Royal Shell and British Petroleum to the British Parliament, and question them! And their major owners also.
This is a British war, not ours. We just went along to help out. Don't our military make good Ghurkas?

April 28, 2007 I might share my initial impression of the invasion of Irak. Which was, What a DUMB thing to do. And after a few weeks, I realized the people of Basra had no electricity, then my thought was that they would never forgive the USA for making them live through a summer in that climate with air conditioning.
April 26, 2007 There was an awful mistake of "intelligence" about Irak just before the war. What was it?
No not weapons of mass destruction. Something else. By the way, I do not like the term weapon of "mass" destruction. Destroy a little mass in a nuclear reaction, and in accordance with E = M C squared, get a lot of energy. That is the only weapon of mass destruction. There are also chemical weapons of destruction by poison, and biological weapons of destruction thru disease.
In victorian parlour game talk, a weapon of mass destruction is also some dirty little secret of the Vatican, which if revealed would cause American Catholics to cease attending the service, which in America is called the Mass.
In French, you might find the church service called the "Cult". I think the Cult of Jesus is a good one.
April 10, 2007 I wonder how many points of vote swing in an election the Genie in the Bottle Scheme has been worth.
I suspect most of the margin of election of Ronald to his second term may be attributed to the Genie Scheme.
If the Democrats had produced the Genie they would have won. Operatives for the Republicans probably signaled Genie.
If a party signals an attribute of the Genie, is that worth a 2% vote swing? Did the signal "Danforth" produce 2%?
Did the signal "Jefferson" produce 2%?
If three attributes of the Genie are signalled does that produce a 6% vote swing? Ask "E 22 Shaw."
Has there been value in the past to the signal "Foal E?" That is to produce the Genie from the Bottle as in a horse being born.
What of the signal "Care E?" Actually that signal was probably used with double meaning. Tell one side it means one thing, and the other side that it means something else. It could mean opposition to the Genie, as to take care of a problem. It could mean support for the Genie, as to care for and nurture someone.
The current best play is the signalled by "Chain E." That referrs to a technique of computer programming in which different programmers prepare small units of code, and they are chained together to create a big computer program.
April 05, 2007 What should the Genie in the Bottle **** actually be called?
Someone said it is the most expensive political campaign ever waged. And furthermore, the name of the candidate is never mentioned.
The Federal Elections Commission, in 1988, issued a letter declining to issue a formal Adivsory Opinion about the matter. So it is not a Campaign.
In some dialects of the English language, the word Scheme does not carry an adverse connotation. For instance, the plan to construct the Hoover Dam, and to supply water to Southern California could be called a Scheme.
I think that is a good word, so let's call the Genie in the Bottle ****

Arpil 02, 2007 One feature of the Genie in the Bottle political program is that the Genie should not be produced at any given moment, because there is something else to be done. Has the Congressional election of November, 2006 ended. There was a House of Representatives seat in Florida where thousands of votes seemed to be missing from electronic voting machines. Enough votes to swing the result of the Election. I do not understand why a House of Representatives under the control of Democrats would seat a Republican in those circumstances without investigation.
Nov 09, 2006 No President of the United States has ever been impeached. Not Andrew Johnson, Not William Jefferson Clinton. NONE. Alcee Hastings was impeached in recent times, and removed from the office of Federal Judge. To be Impeached is to be removed from office.
Mr. Clinton should have been impeached. He said "I did not have sex with that woman" He should have been impeached. Ask any European, ask a Frenchman, ask a German, ask an Italian, ask a Spaniard. He should have been impeached. Maybe he should have been impeached from the Presidency also.
I do not recall anyone mentioning the reason Ronald Regan could have been impeached. In the system in which I read some law, it is called Conversion, to convert the property of an employer to personal use. Mr Regan caused assets to be sold, the assets should have been deemed to be property of the US Government, and the money put in the Treasury, for the Congress to appropriate. Mr Regan gave it away to whom he wished.
Impeachment vacates the Presidency, to be then occupied by the Vice President. So the Vice Presidency is available to be filled by one of the Genies-in-the-Bottles.
Nov 07, 2006 It has been a great honor to be the political Genie-in- the-bottle. Many opportunities to produce the Genie have passed. The most recent has been in the hands of the Democrat party of Florida. The candidate substitution laws of Florida have been exhibited in the Foley matter and in another election of this date. The comparable laws of other states have been mentioned. In Missouri a deceased candidate can win, and then be replaced. In Connecticut a primary election loss is not a bar to being a candidate in the General Election. In Texas, a candidate who wants out of an election cannot withdraw. Election law is State law. So, Democrat party of Florida, did you do something?
