APPARATUS 4

The tip of the aerial has a 500 watt flood light attached to a 200 foot cord reel to take light inside or on top of the roof.

All attack lines are connected to water thiefs. The days of fixing valves behind the panel are over. Three minutes and the thief is off and new one is reattached. Every unused discharge is reduced to the smallest hose carried . This port is reduced from 2 1/2 to 1 1/2 to 1".

The direct tank fill connection is stored with adapters for 5", 2 1/2" long handle swivel. and 1 1/2". It has to be easier to remove a fitting than go find one and attach it.

Eliminating the two center high back seats and replacing them with a low back bench still allows for 10 seats and nine guys arriving in air packs. More importantly crew communication is improved.

Extrication gear and cribbing occupy the front compartment on the officer's side.

The overall panel area layout is illustrated in this view. There are only two ways to tell it is an engine and not a truck. No intercom, aerial charge switch, or throttle authority change over switch on the panel. That illustrates just how common the two designs are.

The forward compartment on the driver's side.
