9.28.01 Tonight I saw something on ebay that I had to get. EA Superbike 2001!!!!! The best game ever! I am taking a break from doing my 68 math problems; yes I actually did have 68. And I thought to my self, dammit you need a new game! Hmmm what game to get, max payne! naw, just got it off ebay and sold it a week later after playing it for only 3 hours. hmmmmm... as you can see there are no good games out on the market, so i started to think of kick ass demos I had played a while back, I instantly thought of EA Superbike 2001!!!!! It’s only the best game ever!!! So I did a search on ebay, the second best site in the world, the first being this. and... ALAS! I am greeted with 4 results! The first being this: Ducati:Superbike_996S_New 2001 Ducati 996S w/ Termi Pipes, NEW !!!! well that sounds like a nice deal except the freaking price is $18,500.00 a tad bit out of my league, and its not even what i am looking for! I highly doubt that a real racing ducati can provide the same excitment that you can get from a video game. the next result was the game!! Yes!!! I stuck GOLD!!! And its only at $6.50 with 3 hours left! EXCELENT! 3 hours left, my ebay tactical mind kicks in. the key to ebay is, be the last person to bid on the item. If an item has 3 hours left, and i bid with 3 hours left. That gives the other person who might be bidding 3 hours to raise the price, then once you see the price has been raised you go back and bid. Well if you do that, A. you suck and B. you are doing it all wrong! See if you wait until the last 10 seconds to bid, you don’t allow the poor sap on the other end, drooling over his product, to bid back, maximizing your chances to get the cheapest possible price! that’s exactly what I did. From when I first saw it with 3 hours left, up until 13 min left, the price had raised $2. Up to $8 that aint a thang foo! So I get into position, I open 2 windows, 1 so I can refresh the auction and see how much is left, and a second so I can log into ebay, and have all the bid boxes and shit filled in ahead of time, so I just have to hit one button and BOOM! My bid is placed. So I sit here for about 12 min, just refreshing over and over. Then it comes down to 1 min, I place my first bid of 9.00. Right after I place that bid, some other person places a bid. dammit, that means someone is probably using the same tactic as I am! But don’t worry I can beat him at his own game. I keep refreshing the auction window, when i see the time get down to 15 seconds; I make my final killing blow. I raise the auction price up to $10.00, and there is only 10 seconds left! I hit refresh a few more times, until 1 second left, i hit refresh once more, holding my breath, hoping to see Auction has ended, high bidder gustaf8000. YES! YES! I won! At this time I jump out of my seat and yell out. "TAKE THAT FOOL!!!" so I won the auction, this is great, I got this kick ass game for cheap! I love ebay! Having last minute bidding wars, and getting excited about them is probably one of the more simple things in life, but hey they are damn fun! |
