Artie’ s first season in charge was described by himself as being a series of ups and downs with the lst.XI scoring plenty of goals but also conceding too many. The highlight of an inconsistent season was the appearance in the Final of the Bangor Floodlit Cup, organised by Bangor Amateurs at their Clandeboye Road ground. The Swifts gave a good account of themselves before narrowly losing by a single goal to Intermediate section side 1st. Bangor.
