PASTORAL CALL

My dear brothers and sisters, my dear young people, my dear children:

The love of Christ!

How we wish that everything were all right in our country, all in order and in peace! How we prefer simply to remain silent, to stand still, and to watch merely from a distance!

But how could we -- when we listen to the many, repeated and unresolved detailed accusations of serious corruptions reaching the highest public office in the land, when we see gambling lords and drug traffickers remain above the law, when we behold tax evaders, squanderers of public funds and destroyers of natural resources among others, escape the bar of justice?

How could we -- when we behold how cheap life has become, how costly living is, when we have more poverty, less employment, sagging economy, when our dear country has been clearly moving backward fast in morality and industry for the past two years?

The rule of law and the demands of due process are certainly not intended to stop us when our faith moves us to pray, to silence us when we feel there is a truth to say, to paralyze us when our conviction asks us to act.

Wherefore, I issue this Pastoral Call to prayer and action -- with the following general program:

A. 26 October 2000, Thursday: Children Rosary Hour in Catholic Schools or Churches at 3:00 PM with the supervision of their respective directors, superiors or mentors.
Intention: National Unity and Peace.

B. 27 October 2000, Friday: Youth Eucharistic Celebration in Schools, Chapels or Churches at 3:00 PM under the coordination of the Archdiocesan Youth Apostolate and the Campus Ministry. Intention: Integrity in Public Office.

C. 28 October 2000, Saturday: March-Rally led by "AGCO", starting at 2:00 PM from the St. John Evangelist Parish Church grounds, going to the Dagupan City public Plaza, ending at 5:00 PM. Intention: Resignation or impeachment of the President -- certainly neither of which is against the Constitution.

During all the above occasions, I have a personal letter specifically addressed to those then present.

God bless us all in our honest and sincere desire to live our faith, to serve our country!

A. 26 Oktubre 2000, Huebes: “Children Rosary Hour” ed amin a “Catholic Schools” odino simbaan ed 3:00 PM ya ipapangulo na saray onguendan iran Directors, Superiors odino mamaestra tan mamaestro.
Intention: Para say Pankakasakey tan Kareenan na Bansa tayo

B. 27 Oktubre 2000, Biernes: “Youth Eucharistic Celebration” ed amin na iskwelaan, kapilya odino simbaan ed oras na 3:00 PM ed silong na Archdiocesan Youth Apostolate tan say Campus Ministry.
Intention: Para say Integridad na Public Office.

C. 28 Oktubre 2000, Sabado: Marcha-Rally ya ipangulo na “AGCO”, ed oras na 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, manlapud St. John the evangellist Parish grounds, tan mansampot ed Dagupan City public plaza.
Intention: Para say “Resignation odino Impeachment” na Presidente --- bengatlan aliwan sumlang ed Constitution tayo.

Ed sarayan okasyon, walay personal ya sulat ko para saray ondagop.

Say bendisyon na Dios so walad sikatayo para say matua tan matoor tayon ibilay so pananisia tayo, ya manlingkur ed bansa.
