Barb Belanger's
Grenouille
Japanese Bobtail
Photo Gallery
Breed Description: The breed is named for its bobbed tail - only three inches in length with fur growing in any or all directions - each cat is both unique from other breeds and among its own breed. Like fingerprints, no two tails are ever alike.Appearance: The Japanese Bobtail is a strong, medium sized, muscular cat. It has a distinctive Japanese appearance with its slanted oval eyes and high cheekbones. It's single coat is soft and silky. Personality: Active, intelligent and talkative, cheerful and social, Bobtails adore human companionship and will nearly always engage in a conversation when spoken to. A breed, some people say they sing, as their voices are capable of nearly a whole scale of tones. They enjoy lots of play and attention and make an ideal family pet. Compared to other breeds, they are active earlier, open their eyes sooner, walk earlier and start getting into trouble earlier. They get along well with other cats, but seem to be rather clannish, seeking out others of their kind or their special people for cuddles, and naps. |
We are a small cattery, where usually one litter of kittens a year is born.
Our cats and kittens are members of the family, and grow up and live with us in our home.
We are located in Manitoba, Canada and prefer to place kittens in Canada, due to Customs
and airline regulations.
As Barb travels to the United States when Judging Cat Shows,
it may be possible to hand-carry a kitten across the border to it's new home.

Peep & Maxine had their kittens 2 weeks apart in September '02, and have shared the child-rearing process together. Peep's two babies are Waldo and Happycat - both red & white boys; Max's baby is a tortie and white, presently called Sensei. | ![]() |
