BIOGRAPHY

OVERVIEW:

PRO-LIFE  POLICY:

Remarks at the NHRTL March for Life January 19
I am 100% Pro Life, and proudly support the Republican Platform with respect to this matter.  I believe that the restoration of the Constitutional Protection, guaranteed in the Inalienable Right to Life is THE number one civil rights issue of our time.  Without a guarantee to the right to life, none of the other Constitutional Protections can be fulfilled.  I believe that we must realize that a society can not be truly whole if the only alternative we can offer women with a crisis pregnancy is to kill her baby.  I believe that the mentality of the last 30 years that abortion solves problems is blatantly false and misleading and has hurt hundreds of women, men and families.  I will not support any funding for any organization engaged in the changing of public policy in favor of abortion.  I will not support any nomination of any individual to any position who opposes the inalienable right to life.

PRO  2nd  AMENDMENT  POLICY:
I believe that the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and particularly the NH State Constitution is very specific.  As an elected official, we take an oath of office to uphold and defend the Constitution.  I will not support any funding of any effort to undermine or undercut the right of the people to own and bear arms.  I will not support the nomination of anyone who does not understand this important Constitutional Protection.

PRO-FAMILY  POLICY:
I believe that Government must be accountable to the people.  Today, families are taxed excessively by our State Government.  There are many hidden taxes.  There are what I would call egregious taxes on small businesses.  I consider these businesses the beacons of this State because this is where families recognize their dreams.  And, yet, year after year, taxes are raised, and our State Government has become bigger and bigger.  It fails, however,  to deliver a decent return on our dollar.  NH State Government HAS NO MONEY.  It has only that which it takes from the people.  Families like mine now have both parents working outside the home to put food on the table.  This is wrong!  The paper is filled with foreclosures because families can no longer afford their mortgage payments.  If elected, I promise to closely monitor the expenses of State Government which come before the Executive Council, particularly with respect to  appointments to various Commissions and Committees.  There are several departments that have doubled and tripled in size.  I will dare to ask why.  I will dare to ask how we in the Executive Branch can take the necessary action that will decrease and streamline government and I will encourage and advise the Governor, (as is my job) to try to extend contracts in the State to the benefit of working NH Families....because that -- is the American way and should also be the NH way.

PRO-EDUCATION  POLICY:
I want it clearly understood that I am pro education.  I believe that parents are the primary educators of their children.  I believe that families and schools work best when parents and teachers work together and Government does not overburden them.  I believe that appointments coming before the Executive Council made to the State Board of Education must recognize this -- and that any future appointments to the State Board of Education should reflect the families, particularly the blue collar workers in the Cities and towns who want their children to know how to read, write, add and subtract.  The thinking from our State Department of Education must be innovative driven -- not money driven -- because it has been proven that money is not the answer.  We have seen how poor management in the City of Manchester over the last ten years has drastically backlashed into the towns of Bedford, Auburn and Candia.  The hiring of big bucks administrators does not translate into learning skills  for our children.  As a taxpayer, I am outraged that the current Manchester School Superintendent wasted so much money, and had nothing to show taxpayers for his expenditures.  Appointed positions, especially at the State level must consider that the salaries are being footed by the taxpayer -- and deserve scrutiny.

JUDICIAL  APPOINTMENTS  POLICY:
I have noted since 1984 that the people of NH have been concerned and frustrated over the state of affairs from our Judicial Branch of Government.  The three branches of government, Executive, Legislative and Judiciary are separate, and there is a balance of powers that resides in them which comes from THE PEOPLE, which gives the power of legislation to the Legislative Branch. The Judiciary has no power to legislate.   It is right of the people to alter or abolish government which becomes destructive.  Such has happened with the NH Judicial Branch, the results of which were impeachment of our Chief Justice and the removal of an Associate Supreme Court Judge.  The people of NH deserve an amendment to the State Constitution that makes sure that Judges remain accountable to the people.  Judges with known prejudices should not be nominated, and should be removed if it causes harm to basic justice.  Until such time as judges are not appointed for life terms, and until such time as the unified bar of the NH Bar Association is modified, I believe that it is the duty of every Executive Councilor to closely look at all the past records of judicial nominees, and to urge the Executive Branch of Government to lead the charge to give the judicial branch back to the people of the State and adhere to the Constitution which therefore states the limited powers of the judicial branch.
