SYNOPSIS
This free-for-all was popular enough to also have a Saturday version for kids called Junior Almost Anything Goes.
The format was in the tradition of the old Beat The Clock, pitting teams from different towns and states against each other in all sorts of strange stunts. The competitions were held outdoors and the coverage was handled as in a sports event, complete with play-by-play, color and field interviews. Winning teams got to participate in regional championships.
Contestants had to: carry a loaf of bread while sliding across a greased pole suspended over a pool; balance an egg on their heads while riding down an obstacle course in a golf cart; dive into a pool and climb onto a raft to dress up in formal clothes.
Other stunts included greased runways, swimming pools filled with peanuts and chocolate pies in the face.
