SYNOPSIS

Burt Reynolds, who had begun his career on TV (he was a regular on four different series between 1959 and 1970), returned many years and more than a few bad movies later to do this rather routine private eye series.

Stryker was a Vietnam War hero and burned-out New Orleans police detective who moved to Palm Beach, Florida to bum around and work occasionally as a low-rent P.I. Living on a houseboat and tooling around town in a beat up old Caddy, he solved murders mostly among the rich and famous of that golden resort. Oz was his pal and enforcer, a former boxer; Lyynda, his free-spirited secretary; Oliver, his wealthy but trouble-prone landlord; and Kimberly, his oft-married ex-wife.

B.L. Stryker was one of the rotating elements of the ABC Mystery Movie and was seen every three weeks or so.
