SYNOPSIS
The
Cimarron Strip was the border region between the Kansas Territory
and the Indian Territory during the late 19th Century. Patrolling
this vast area was the job of U.S. Marshal Jim Crown, who was based
in Cimarron City. Marshal Crown had no full-time deputies but he
often availed himself of the assistance of Mac Gregor, an itinerant
Scot, and Francis Wilde, a young photographer. Also seen as a
regular in this series was Dulcey, a young woman from the East who
had moved to the frontier to take over an Inn that had been run by
her late father.
Cimarron Strip
was an attempt by CBS to copy the success of NBC's
The
Virginian
(the first 90-minute Western series), and like The Virginian,
it centered largely on characters acted by guest stars. Reruns of
the original series aired during the summer of 1971.
