SYNOPSIS

The declining wealth of an opinionated WASP brought him next door to an upwardly mobile Latino family in this 1983 situation comedy. Insurance salesman James Kirkridge found it necessary to move his All-American family from their rambling house to a smaller condominium, where his next-door neighbor turned out to be Jesse Rodriguez, whose success in the landscaping business had recently allowed him to move up from the barrio. As if the clash of cultures wasn't enough for traditionalist Kirkridge, his son Scott and Jesse's daughter Linda soon announced that they were getting married and expecting a baby. Race and religion jokes flew thick and fast between James and Jesse, but not fast enough to save this series.
