Ten years
after her divorce, Karen Matthews' life was pretty good. She had just been
promoted to editor for a Los Angeles book publisher and her daughter, Laura, had
started college at UCLA. Then she fell in love with Steve, the owner of a small
catering service called A Catered Affair. He was bright, friendly, interesting,
loving and 28 years old – 12 years younger than Karen.
Daughter
Laura thought dating a younger man disgusting and Karen's best friend Claire
thought it was great. Karen's neighbor and former lover, real estate salesman
Michael, was supportive but thought she and Steve should get married.
As for Karen
herself, she was alternately content and confused, unsure of whether a
relationship with a younger man made sense or had a future. The relationship
might have, but the series failed after only two months.
