SYNOPSIS
This sci-fi educational series chronicled the adventures of two time travelers taking part in great events of human history. The show revolved around a group of trained "Voyagers" journying back and forth through the ages making sure that great events turned out as intended.
Phineas Bogg was one was one if the Voyagers. When his Omni (his time-travel device) malfunctioned, Phineas crashed into the Manhattan bedroom of young Jeffrey Jones. Phineas' guidebook to history was then eaten by Jeffrey's dog, Ralph, leaving the Voyager without his source of information on how great events were supposed to turn out. However, Jeffrey was a history buff and knew more about the subject than did Phineas and agreed to travel with him and help him out.
Some of the more notable episodes included: making sure that baby Moses was discovered by the Pharaoh's daughter; helping General MacArthur get away from Pearl Harbor just before the Japanese attack in 1941; giving direction to Lewis and Clark; getting the Wright Brothers back to working on their airplane; helping Spartacus escape from jail to lead the revolt against Roman oppression and preventing President Theodore Roosevelt from being killed by Billy the Kid.
Because Phineas' Omni was smashed, they could not go any later than the year 1982, except when the Voyagers brought them back to Phineas' home time (which was never specified) to try him for violating the Voyager code by using Jeffrey as a guide - he was found not guilty.
As an interesting twist, at the end of each show, Meeno Peluce (Jeffrey) would suggest to younger viewers that they go to the library and get more information about the historical events that they'd just seen.
