Authors Note: So you have an Idea, Matt is 17 and Mimi 16. This is my first Digifanfic, so be easy on it, ‘kay? One other thing, English isn’t my first Language. In fact I live in a tiny forgotten country called El Salvador (yes it DOES exist!), and you speak Spanish here, so sorry for the mistakes. One more thing, I don’t know how the scholar system is (college and highschool confuses me) so don’t blame me if somethin’ doesn’t fit! Now go on read this thing.

Hey, Hello Have You Ever Been In Love?
by the cookie monster

“NO THAT’S NOT RIGHT! ARGH!” Matt yelled frustrated before he, angrily, threw his harmonica against his desk, making the glass of water which was standing on it, break into little peaces. The water dripped off the edge, slowly. It was silent again. But not for long
“What the hell is wrong with me?” Matt screamed vehemently, throwing his notepad in mid air, smashing then against the window. Sitting down on his bed he let his hands go through his hair. The papers, full with his notations, were all over the floor, he had just thrown them away. Matt had a concert only a couple of days away and his fans were demanding new songs. But Matt had been sitting for over two weeks and not a tune seemed to sound right. He couldn’t write anymore, he was suffering of something, all artist fear to have, a lack of inspiration. Nothing seemed to work. Not walking on the streets observing the people, not listening to his favorite music idols. NOTHING! He was desperate. The pressure he was carrying on his shoulders was more than he could bare. He was heart and soul of his band. Everybody depended on him, if he didn’t come up with a song, he would be having problems. Desperate, Matt had been skipping school the last two days, working until dawn, trying the tunes on his harmonica, writing his notations. But all of them were now in his Trash can, or rather on the floor. His trash can was full of failed attempts, as well as his floor. He just couldn’t write anymore. Nothing seemed to fit, the words seemed to escape from his mind.
Matt was in his biggest problem ever. He sighed. Everything was silent. He just sat there. Just listened to the few birds which silently flew through the winds. He didn’t wanted to move. He hadn’t been eating in days, he hadn’t taken a shower since god knows when. HE was wearing the same cloth he had on three days ago. He hadn’t been able to go to sleep, although he could barely stay wake. Black rings had formed around his eyes. His hair hung messy over his face, his clear blue eyes had lost its adventurous shine which was characteristic of him. He looked shabby, as if not taken care in years. But he didn’t care. He didn’t care about anything at all. He lied down on his messy bed and looked out of the window not a cloud was visible.
It was incredibly hot in order to be November, not a drop of rain had fallen since the last week, and the sun was shinning as if it were summer. His mind slowly started to drift away, it was a mixture between dreams and memories. Images appeared before his eyes, he closed his eyes sitting up. He rubbed his eyes with his fists. When he looked up again, he found T.K. standing in his bedroom door. Matt swallowed hard, he didn’t say a word. He looked at him frowning, as if trying to say “please, go away, just go away”. T.K. looked at him seriously. He was leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes were penetrating, they were trying to look through Matt. A silence wrapped around them. Both were trying to say something without words, each other waiting for the other one to start. It was T.K. who first spoke, his voice was deep and serious.
“You haven’t been coming to school lately.” T.K. said. He hadn’t moved an inch, nor had his eyes left Matt’s. T.K. waited for an answer, it never came. Matt just looked away. His arms resting on his legs, his hands folded together. It was getting darker, sunset was near. The room turned red, and the birds were singing their last tunes. T.K. continued.
“Why?” T.K. asked harsh. Matt looked up at him, his eyes fired up, he pressed his teeth together in order not to yell at his brother. Matt kept his mouth closed. Not a word dared to escape his lips. T.K. growled almost inaudible and then walked a few steps closer to where his brother was sitting. “SO?” T.K. almost yelled. Matt jumped up.
“You wouldn’t understand.” Matt shouts angrily and pushes T.K. out of his way. T.K. stumbled slightly. It was almost dark by then. Matt had gone into the living room and snapped his Jacket of the chair. T.K. watched him, part afraid and part angry. His brother had never react that way before. With two hastily steps he stepped out of Matt’s room, and saw Matt opening the door.
“Where are you going?” T.K. asked. His voice showed, anger and fear and uncertainness. Matt stopped at the door. He finished putting on his Jacket and said:
“That’s not of your business.” Matt didn’t even turn around. It was like he had told it the floor and not to his brother. Matt closed the door and T.K. was alone in the apartment.
Matt on the other side walked out of the building and just started to stroll around the streets. He just needed to be alone. Something in his head kept saying “you can’t continue like this, get something to eat, take a shower, for Christ sake at least comb your hair!” But then the other side just didn’t care. Matt walked without actually paying attention to where he was going. Suddenly a cold wind picked up. The sky was covered with rain clouds, not a star was in sight. As he walked, he saw less and less people on the streets. But he really didn’t pay any attention to them. He had kept his hands in his trouser pockets, but as the wind grew stronger he took them out and put them instead in his jacket pockets. Something cold touched his fingers. Frowning he took out the little object. Surprised he looked at the little apparatus in his hand. It was his digivice, and as he looked up he realized he was standing in front of the school. He looked at the school, then at his digivice, and then back at the school. Could this be a sign? He swallowed hard and then looked to his right and then back to his left.
“No one there…” He whispered. Grabbing his digivice hard in his hand, he jumped over the fence and ran into the building. Over the soccer field into the computer room. He silently slid the door open and to his surprise, one screen was on. He stood there for a moment and then decided he had to go in if he wanted or not. He walked towards the screen stretched his arm out and to his surprise the digivice worked! Matt appeared in a huge living room, with beautiful wide carpets, high bookshelves and comfortable looking chairs. He looked around. Everything looked so rich. He walked out of the room, and as he suspected, it was an mansion.
The house was dark, through the tall windows the moon light entered. Even though the mansion gave the impression as if it was abandoned, somehow he didn’t feel alone. He felt as if someone else was there, in the mansion. It wasn’t a nice feeling. With a shudder he dismissed such thought.
Matt was standing on the second floor and as he searched the wide hall, he noticed the house was filled with doors, one next to another. All of them were close… but one. It wasn’t wide open, just a little, just enough to see a small ray of light. Matt walked down the stairs, as he did so a horrible feeling of coldness overcame him, making him feel even more depressed. He was now at the bottom of the stairs. The feeling of coldness was still present in him, but as he saw the door that feeling disappeared. The little ray filled him with a warmth which made everything disappeared.
Matt walked, almost hypnotized towards the door, and with his right hand he slowly pushed the door open. No noise was created. Quietly, as if pushed by the invisible hand of the wind, the door gave place to an even brighter light. Matt stood at the door frame with his mouth wide open. In front of him a wide room extended itself. The warm light filled each corner of it.
The walls were covered with… instrument? Matt couldn’t believe his eyes. It was totally unexpected. All possible instrument were there. A white winged piano was in back of the room. The wall behind it was a window. A huge window with the fascinating landscape of the Digiworld. The most fascinating instruments were hanging on the walls. Saxophones, Flutes, Guitars, Violins… just about everything!
As Matt looked amazed from one side to another one his gaze fell on the little desk in the room. There in one corner of the wooden table, a silver harmonica was lying. It seemed completely out of place. Matt swallowed hard and he took a few silent steps towards the desk. He felt incredibly nervous. He grabbed the harmonica. It weight more than his did. As he turned it around he saw a little inscription on it. Matt’s eyes flung open as he read was written there. “…Ishida…” He whispered. His name was written on it. He turned it around again, trying to find something unusual on it, but he didn’t. Everything seemed to be normal beside the fact that his name was written over it. He scratched his already messed up hair in surprise. HE shook his head and continued the examination of the harmonica After he observed it for another while, he came to the conclusion that it was indeed a silver made harmonica, guaranteeing the sound to be of excellent quality.
He brought the harmonica to his lips with shaking hands. But he couldn’t bring himself to play a tune. He looked around in the room. Everything was so quiet and warm, and he feared that he would ruin it if he played.
Matt let his hands fall to each of his sides and silently walked out of the room. He now was again in the darkness. He looked around, no it didn’t feel right to play the harmonica in the hall either. He looked towards the main door. Matt took a deep breath and walked towards it. He pulled the door open and it opened as silently as the other had. He closed it behind him, again no sound. Outside, a cold wind greeted him, making him shiver and snuggle even deeper into his Jacket. Now he was outside, in the roughness of the Digiworld. As he looked to his right he could see the glistering of a lake. He walked with quick steps towards it. Arrived there he sat down. Again the wind blew through his hair, and as this happened, he took out the harmonica. With his thumb he almost unconsciously rubbed the carving of his name and brought it up to his lips. This time his hands didn’t shake but he hesitated before he started to play. It was almost as if it hurted him to blow into the instrument.
Matt played his usual song. He hadn’t done so in years. Somehow he had always wanted to keep it locked away, somewhere deep inside. It brought him always bad memories and with his band he had almost forgotten about it. And even though, he played it pretty well. He didn’t skip a note, nor did he hesitate at any moment.
But what most amazed him, was the sound it produced. It was so warm and calming, as if it mixed with the wind rather than if it appeared out of the little silver harmonica. When he was done, he looked down at the harmonica. Still fascinated by the sound it had created. Again he stroke the carving. He was almost lost in his thoughts, when a voice brought him back to reality. “I hadn’t heard that song in years.” Matt turned around surprised by the voice. It was Mimi who was now standing behind him, smiling warmly, her hands folded together in front of her. “I kind of missed it.” She continued still smiling. Matt finally was able to move his mouth and actually say something.
“Mimi!” He brought out. He was still surprised to find her there. She walked towards Matt and sat down next to him.
“Hi!” She said. Matt watched her as she sat down next to him. Again cold wind blew making him shiver. He noticed Mimi didn’t and found it extremely strange. She was wearing less clothe than he was and still she seemed to feel warm and comfortable. Suddenly she looked at him, making him blush and look forwards into the lake. Why the hell am I blushing?, he asked himself, but couldn’t come to an answer because Mimi spoke.
“So, how have you been?” Mimi asked, her strawberry blond hair, slightly waving with the breeze. Matt swallowed hard before answering.
“Actually… not so good…” He said sighing. He turned the harmonica in his hands. Again he felt depressed. “..I’m such a looser..” He whispered, more to himself than to Mimi. She looked at him. He was totally focused on the harmonica in his hands. She turned to watch the lake. How the moon reflected itself in it.
“What makes you think that?” She asked without looking at him. Matt suddenly bursted out in anger. “I CAN’T WRITE ANYMORE, OKAY?” He yelled into the wind, then turned to look at Mimi. She didn’t seem to be surprised in any way, she just looked at him, expecting him to continue. And he did.
“I… can’t compose anymore. I have lost my inspiration… my muse.. or whatever I had… it’s now missing, okay? And I feel miserable because of it.” He took a deep breath, then sighed and watched the lake. His body shook, and he was only one step away of busting into tears. Silence filled the air. Suddenly Mimi talked again.
“Play something, Matt.” She had pulled her knees up to her jaw and wrapped her arms around them. He looked at her surprised, but couldn’t say anything. Mimi looked at him as he felt his gaze.
“Play something for me, Yama-chan.” Matt blushed, Yama…-chan?…, he swallowed. HE wanted to say something. He wanted to say that he couldn’t play, that it sounded terribly, but he didn’t wanted to let Mimi down. He closed his eyes and brought the harmonica to his lips. He hesitated, his hands shaking. And then, suddenly, Mimi moved closer to him. Resting her head on his shoulder she closed her eyes. He looked at her first surprised but then he smiled, and something happened. He couldn’t describe it. It was like if everything that had happened to him earlier, suddenly disappeared. He too closed his eyes, and as he brought the harmonica to his lips a cold wind blew through his hair, but this time, he didn’t feel the cold. Everything was so warm, so peacefully, just so right. And this time, his hand didn’t shake, nor did he hesitate before playing. Everything was just so natural. He played a rather sad song. Something he had never heard before, he knew it, but yet it seemed familiar, as if heard in a past live.
Matt, enchanted by the sound, just played and played, and nothing seemed to repeat itself, it just kept coming back to him. And during this period of almost “artist holiness” his mind went blank. He didn’t think of anything. Not of the composition of the song, or the note, it just flowed. He was in peace and everything disappeared, except Mimi and himself.
When the song finished, everything came back. Mimi sat up and looked around, she too, obviously, had felt the transportation. But Matt was to busy looking at the harmonica in his hands. Over and over again he read the carving, … Ishida…. He smiled, still fascinated because of what just happened. Mimi smiled at him.
“See, that wasn’t so hard!” She said. Matt looked at her and then back at the harmonica and as he stood up he said:
“No, not at all.” It was more like a whisper. He was standing now and again the wind blew. But it was warm wind, not a cold one. And then he looked back at Mimi, she still was sitting, her knees up to her chin.
“It’s back… I can’t believe it’s back….” Matt whispered and then he looked at her again.
“IT’S BACK, MIMI! IT’S BACK! MY MUSE HAS FINALLY RETURNED! JEEEHHAAAAA!” Matt jumped around. Mimi giggled amused. Matt kept jumping around, screaming al possible “Hurrah” synonyms he knew. But then he suddenly slipped. He had come to close towards the shore of the lake and the water had made the shore muddy.
“Oh, Matt, WATCH OUT!” Mimi yelled jumping up, but it was already to late. Matt had slipped, and because he had been jumping, the impulse send him flying backwards into the lake. But before all of that Matt had thrown the harmonica towards Mimi.
“CATCH!” He yelled before he disappeared underneath the water. Mimi cached the little instrument, and then ran immediately towards the shore.
“Yama-chan…?” She yelled concerned. Her boots were getting all wet and muddy, but she didn’t care. Matt didn’t show up. And then, when he finally did, she sighed relieved. He jumped out of the water, literarily, looked around and walked towards Mimi, brushing his hair back out of his face. Matt had only taken a few steps when Mimi came running towards him. “Oh, Yama-chan, I’m so glad you are okay!” She three herself into his arms and hugged him. Matt blushed and then frowned. He just fell into a lake… what was so concerning about that? Besides he hit himself pretty hard when he fell backwards, because it wasn’t very deep. “Don’t worry Mimi, I’m okay.” He said, a sweat drop appearing on his forehead, when he noticed Mimi kept holding him, not that he really mind, but… Anyway, her grabbed her arms and pushed her away, softly. He smiled at her. “See? I’m alright. Now look at you! You got all wet!” He said. She smiled at his consideration. Matt’s hair had fallen back into his face and as he looked at it, he noticed something green in between it. He pulled it out and it turned out to be a seaweed. Mimi giggled at his expression. He grinned and then sneezed.
“Now, let’s get back into the mansion, or you are going to catch a nasty cold. And that would really ruin your concert.” They both started to walk back, Mimi hooked her arm with his. He allowed it.
“Yeah… Hey, wait a minute, how do you know about the concert?” Matt asked taking of his Jacket and twitching it. The water just purred out of it. Mimi looked at him amused,
“Are you kidding me? I got front row tickets! I wouldn’t like to miss that!” Mimi really sounded excited. Matt just looked at her, he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“In fact, the whole gang bought front row tickets!” Matt stared at her, eyes wide open. And then he sneezed again.
“Are you serious?” He asked again, still not believing what he had just heard, and again he sneezed.
“Yeah! Of course I’m serious.” Mimi answered and laughed amused at his expression, again.
“…Wow…” Matt whispered and scratched the back of his head.
They had just arrived at the Mansion. Matt pushed the door open and let Mimi pass through it first. He closed it again behind him. It was completely quiet… until Matt sneezed, again. The sun was starting to rise, and the big hall was filled with a red warm light. Mimi walked towards one of the big windows. In the forest they hadn’t noticed the sunrise.
“Wow… it’s beautiful, don’t you think?” Mimi said turning around briefly to see Matt walking towards her, his hands in his trousers pockets.
“Mhm… yeah it’s beautiful, almost… inspiring…” He whispered philosophically. Mimi looked at him, a warm smile curved her lips and then… Matt sneezed again. Mimi laughed and hooked her arm again with his. “Come on, before you get sick..” Mimi said and pulled him up the stairs and into the bathroom. She turned on the light and slid the door open behind which a bathtub appeared.
“Now take of your close in the fore room*, meanwhile, I’ll be filling the bathtub. Mimi entered and left Matt alone. This one blushed a little, but did as she had told him to. He took of his cloth and when he was finished, he wrapped a towel around his waist. After looking around for a while, he found a little basket which was, he figured, to put the dirty laundry in it. So he let all of it glide into the basket, which to his surprised, suddenly split in two, and his clothe disappeared in the whole which was left. He bent over the basket unbelieving but he had to realize that it was for real.
Shaking his head he entered. Mimi was bending over the tub to close the water. She was giving Matt her back. Matt blushed when he saw her in that position and quickly watched away. That skirt is definitely, to short!
“Now… the water is perfect.” Mimi turned around drying her hand, she had just dipped it in the tub to proof if the water wasn’t to warm.
“Well, the water is ready, climb in whenever you feel to do so. Use the soap box on you left” She said walking out of the bathroom and disappeared. Matt looked back at her, she didn’t seem to come back, so he quickly submerged himself in the water. The water was warm and he liked the way it surrounded him and slowly warmed him up. He grabbed the box of soap, Mimi had told him. He looked at it.
“A bubble bath!?” He exclaimed sitting up. Just thinking about the ridiculous image that would give, but then he shrugged. He had had remembered that he hadn’t taken a bath in about three days. Even Matt found that disgusting. He dipped the soap into the water and shook his hands in quick short movements. The foam seemed never to stop again, and that gave him incredibly pleasure. He didn’t really notice it, but yet again he found the fascination of a child, as he saw how the bubbles kept popping up.
When Matt had finally satisfied his childish fascination, he lay back, his arms tired out because of the movement of his hands. He let his hand go through his hair and felt something sticky. He made a face as he remembered what he had just had on his head and then he disappeared completely under the water. He stayed there for a while. He liked it under the water. Everything was so quiet and peaceful and just so fantastic. But eventually, Matt would run out of air sometime, so he had to come to the surface, if he wanted or not.
Matt pushed his hair back when he was again on the surface, he kept his eyes closed because of the foam. He was washing it of off his face, when he suddenly felt something cold on his head. He stopped and thought about what it could be. But Matt hadn’t even started to think about it, when he felt two fine hands go through his hair, and massaging his head comfortable. He felt so relaxed suddenly, he was close to give in to the not demanded caress, but his brain regained it’s consciousness, and he turned around quickly. Behind him was kneeling… Mimi! She looked at him surprised. Matt’s eyes widened.
“Mimi!” He exclaimed surprised, and… blushed. Again. Mimi looked at him angrily and grabbing his shoulder he turned him around back into his earlier position. “Hold still!” She said and again, let her fingers glide through his head. Matt felt uncomfortably at the beginning… just to think that she was just washing his hair was… weird. But then again, she was so good at it, so he decided to turn of his brain and just let enjoyed himself. Besides, they were friends, weren’t they? But… why did he just feel different around her than around any other girl? He was most of the time surrounded by them anyway, but he didn’t feel what he felt when around with Mimi. He quickly discarded the thought of that feeling being there because of their adventures in the Digiworld. There was Sora, and it was different. He didn’t feel uncomfortable with her. Matt stopped thinking about that issue and continued to enjoy Mimi’s caress.
After a while, Mimi took the little handy shower and turned it on. “Okay, close your eyes now.” Matt did as asked, and she purred the water over him. After a while his head was clean. He opened his eyes. I like her! Came suddenly the answer. I like her! That’s why I feel so weird, but yet again so comfortable with her! He suddenly felt relieved for finally having the answer he had been searching for. And then he blushed again. I never liked a girl like this before, came the immediately observation. Of course Matt had had two or three girlfriends in the past, but it had always been different. The girls had always liked him before and he just liked to play along with it, but this was the first time he liked someone. And he didn’t know if she liked him. Again he felt insecure, damn I hate this feeling!
“See? Now the icky stuff on your head is gone!” Mimi said triumphant, letting her hand glide again through his hair. Matt then thought it would be the perfect time to make a little experiment. He quickly turned around and grabbed her hand. He caught her off guard. Matt’s nerves were killing him, but he had to stay calm, and he was making a huge effort in order to not to blush. His self-confidence suddenly took care of the situation. A warm smile curved his lips, making Mimi blush, and then he spoke with deep voice.
“Thanks, Mi-chan, I really appreciate it.” Matt said, innerly, his nerves were killing him. Everything depended on her reaction. He still was holding her hand. Mimi blushed even more, and she lifted her other hand up to her cheek. She herself felt her face heating up.
“Why… thank you… Matt…” Mimi answered and looked away. Matt in a bathtub with messy hair was to much for her. Matt let her hand go and she gladly turned around to grab the soap. Matt also turned around. He smiled satisfactory, so she felt the way he did. It was relive to know that. He submerged himself in his thoughts. Should I tell her, or shouldn’t I, and if I do, how? That was the big question right now, he kept thinking about it for a while, until Mimi’s voice interrupted him.
“Could you please… sit up straight…” She asked, a little insecure. Matt did as he was told to, he was giving her, his back.
“I’ll just soap your back, and then I’m going to leave you alone, promise.” Mimi said and started to soap his back. That was odd? He had done something he didn’t wanted to do. He made Mimi feel uncomfortable and now she didn’t wanted to stay with him anymore. Damn! He cursed himself, he had to do that right again. A mischievous grin crossed his face as a bypassing thought gave him an Idea. Mimi kept soaping his back, in soft, slow, regular movements. Matt loved the attention. When Mimi then moved up to his shoulders again, her head came close to his. Now, Matt thought and he grabbed both of Mimi’s wrist, which were one on each side of his neck. She pulled her down, soft, but fast. Her head was next to his, and her eyes widened in surprise. Matt made his move. His mouth brushed her neck, just slightly. His warm lips moved up to her ear and then he started to place small kisses on her jaw.
Mimi, at the beginning was surprised, and blushed uncontrollably when she felt his warm breath on her neck. But then she slowly started to relax. She closed her eyes in delight when he started kissing her jaw, and most of her weight was now resting on Matt’s shoulders.
“Matt smiled, when he felt her relaxing. He wasn’t doing a bad job, not at all! Now that she was calm he had to tell her, now or never.
“…Mi-chan…” Matt asked, a warm breath on Mimi’s neck made her shudder in delight. Again he smiled triumphantly.
“…Yes…” Mimi sighed, she was completely his in that moment. The soap glide slowly out of her hands until it fell in the water and disappeared underneath the foam. Her hands, almost unconsciously, started to stroke his chest. Matt loved attention.
“…You see…” Matt placed a kiss on her neck before he continued.
“… I’ve been kind of thinking…” He kissed her neck one more time. Mimi loved the attention. His hands started to caress hers, and he felt her fingers twitch a few times stressed, but relaxed.
“…Aha…” Mimi said, she wasn’t really paying attention to his words, rather more to his kisses, she started twin his fingers with hers, and then released him, to continue stroking him, his hands moved up to her wrists.
“…About you…” Matt felt her stir and he knew she was going to pull away and everything would be ruined. He still had her wrists in his, and he grabbed her a little harder in order to keep her from going away. And then he quickly placed a kiss behind her earlobe, that so very sensitive spot. She let a little, almost inaudible moan, and relaxed again. Matt smiled triumphantly again.
“… I kind of like you… kind of like you a lot…” Matt continued, increasing his caresses a little more. Mimi stirred again, but didn’t threaten to go away, she just was paying attention.
“…You do…?” She asked, a little insecure, somehow she kept thinking it was only a big joke, that it couldn’t be real. It was just to good to be true.
“…Mhm…” Was Matt’s answer. There he had said it, now he could only wait for her reaction. Mimi took a deep breath, even though, knowing that he liked her, helped a lot, she still felt quit nervous about what she was about to say. “…You know… I kind of like you too…” She said quietly, blushing as she did so. Matt looked up at her and then smiled.
“... Then let’s seal it...” He whispered softly, pulling Mimi down to him. Mimi blushed and became nervous, but didn’t pull away. Matt blushed too when he saw her blushing. His heart started pounding incredibly fast and he felt as if he was going die of excitement and of his goddamn nerves! He closed his eyes as well as she had done, and then his lips found hers, and everything else stopped existing. It was just him and her. Matt’s tongue twined with Mimi’s and vice versa, it was an never-ending kiss. But eventually they would have got to stop someday and when they did, they both stopped to catch their breath.
Matt rested his head on the edge of the tub, he had eyes closed. Mimi tangled her fingers in his soft hair and looked at him with endearing eyes. She bent down to kiss his lips softly and then his cheek.
Matt opened his eyes and gazed up at her. A warm hand came to rest on her cheek. She blushed. He smiled, and then grinned mischievously, and that was about all the warning he gave her. She blinked surprised. Suddenly Matt turned around a little, his right arm wrapped around her waist, and then he lifted her and let her fall in the water on his lap.
“AH, NO, YAMA-CHAN! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO…” She couldn’t finish the sentences because he had let her fall in the tub. Mimi laid surprise in his arms, meanwhile, “Yama-chan” was almost dying of laughter. He didn’t believe he actually managed to do what he had just done. Mimi was getting angry. “WHAT IS SO FUNNY?!” She yelled at him splashing him. Matt just couldn’t stop laughing, tears came into his eyes, then he finally could speak.
“You just look so cute wet and mad.” He grinned at her and then wrapped her in a tight embrace. Mimi tried to push him away, although she didn’t wanted to and then stopped short afterwards. He nuzzled her neck and then pressed a kiss on her cheek. He looked at her, she was looking away. Mimi then wanted to get up, but was pushed back the strong arm of Matt. He looked at her endearingly. A wet strand of hair was falling in her face. Matt pushed it away and caressed her cheek with his fingers.
“…Kirei…” He whispered, making Mimi blush. He kissed her again, and she welcomed it. But this kiss wasn’t so week as the other one. It was a little more passionate and heated, but shorter. Mimi smiled and then she tried to get up again. But she slipped and fell back again. Of course Matt cached her and hold her in his arms. He was laughing at her again. This time she laughed to. “What are you laughing at? Help me up!” She punched him playfully in the left arm.
“Alright, alright, I’ll help you.” He said between laughter and grabbed her hips and pushed her up. “Thank you.” She said rather ironically but smiling.
“Iagh, now I’ll have to take a shower!” Mimi said putting on a disgusted face. Matt rested his chin on the edge of the tub, his arms hanging out of the tub. He grinned. “I will wash your back if you wish!” She looked at him, he grinned… stupidly. “Yamato Ishida, you are going to finish up your bath now, did you hear me?!” Mimi rested her fists on her hips and tried to look serious. Matt kept grinning. “Excuse me to remind you that you are still in the room, and this shower doesn’t seem to have an curtain so how do you want me to finish up, eh?” Mimi tried her best in order not to laugh. She felt miserably.
“Alright, I’m leaving now, but you better hurry up!” Mimi said and walked out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Matt shook his head and let the water out. He finished his bath and then stepped out, trying no to slip. He dried himself quickly and then wrapped the towel around his waist. Matt opened the door and he saw Mimi there looking herself in the mirror. She was only wearing a way to short towel. She looked at him.
“You finished fast!” She said surprised, took one last look in the mirror then jumped into the other room. Matt noticed, her close was missing but her boots. “Mi-chan, you know where all of our cloth goes?” Mimi turned around. “Sure, they go to the wash machine in the basement. Yours should be dry by know, I think mine too. They have an excellent washing up system here.”
“Okay I’m going down to get it then. Matt said, putting on the bathrobe he found in a closet and the slippers. He was about to close the door, when Mimi called him.
“Uh, Yama-chan, could you bring my close up too, please?” Mimi asked sweetly. “Of course.” He kissed the tip of her nose and then left.
Matt went down into the basement and there he found his cloth in the dryer, even his Jacket was washed. The first time since he bought it three years ago, he thought. He smelled it.
“It actually smells good!” He wondered. He looked for an ironing plate. He found one and he ironed his cloth and put it on.
“Ah comfy, warm pants!” He thought and grinned at his own stupid delight. He went then for Mimi’s clothe. Matt ironed this one two and folded it carefully. Her underwear between her shirt and skirt. He felt uncomfortable in touching women’s underwear, that was something more intimate. He was about to leave when his gaze fell on the edge of the washing machine. The harmonica was there, shining as always. He looked at it for a moment, then grabbed it and let it disappear in his Jacket pocket.
Matt walked back up and silently opened the door. Mimi was still showering, and he could hear her humming a song. He smiled at that. He took of the slippers and the bathrobe and stored them back into the closet. He put on his shoes which were still, wet, but what could he do? Matt looked himself in the mirror. “I look as if I just woke up!” His hair was almost dry and it was standing up awkwardly. He grabbed the comb and combed it back. He looked so much older that way, but he knew, that when his hair completely dry, it would fall to the sides and adopt it’s usual position. The door slid open and Mimi walked in. She was dripping with water, and her strawberry-blond hair was now rather red and she looked fantastic.
Mimi smiled as she saw him. So old, she thought, and then her gaze fell on her cloth. Folded tidily lying on the dressing table.
“Oh you even ironed it!” She exclaimed picking up her shirt. And then she hugged him.
“You are so sweet!” She said. He let her go, blew a kiss, before she left her alone. The sun was shining already. He looked at the big clock in the hall. “Eight o’clock.” He whispered. He entered the music room. It was as bright as it was before. He took out the little harmonica. Ishida. He was fascinated by that. He smiled and then put it again where he had found it. He turned around in order to leave the room. At the door frame he stopped again.
“Thanks.” He whispered. The golden shine of the room disappeared, as if its mission was over. Matt smiled again, and then closed the door behind him. Matt waked up the stairs and leaned against the wall next to the bathroom. He felt happy. It turned out to be the best day in his life. He smiled at that thought when the door opened. Mimi saw him smiling.
“What are you smiling about?” She asked interested. Matt stood up straight, let his hand glide around her waist and pulled her closer.
“I just had the time of my life” He said and kissed her deeply. She smiled. “Well, that makes two of us.” She slung her arm around him too and both walked back to the library. Matt stretched out his Digivice as well as Mimi. It was now that he noticed her carrying a little purse, where she had kept it all along. When they arrived in the real World, it was still dark. He looked at the clock hanging over the door in the computer room.
“It’s Friday night, eight o’clock, what do you want to do?” He asked her. “Why don’t we go to the movies, maybe there is something good on.” She hook her arm with his, and he did as she did.
“Okay, but let’s stop by at my place, I would like to change shoes, these are wet.” He found the thought extremely disgusting. She giggled amused. They walked without hurry, they enjoyed being together, and suddenly Matt realized that Mimi had been in the Digiworld without any real reason. Matt thought he ought to ask her
“Mimi, what were you doing in the Digiworld anyhow?” Matt asked. Mimi slowed down until she stopped. She looked away and then again at him, with sad expression.
“You see, it’s actually dumb.” She said, trying to avoid the issue by looking away. Matt walked towards grabbing her by the shoulders. She still didn’t look up. He grabbed her chin and lifted it up, forcing her gently to look at him. “Hey, look at me. Mimi it can’t be dumb if it makes you feel so bad. You helped me out, now it’s my turn.” He gazed deeply into her eyes. Mimi looked at him, and smiled weakly.
“Yeah, I guess you are right” Matt grabbed her hand and they started to stroll again. He didn’t wanted to push her so they walked in silence for a while, until she begun.
“You know I don’t live here anymore, that’s obvious, but… I don’t know. I like it in New York but I miss you guys. And my parents don’t want to leave me here alone. Now that I’m in holidays I’m staying with Sora, but, my holidays are over next week.” Mimi was silent.
“So?” Matt didn’t understand where she was going.
“So, the problem is, after that I have to leave, because I wont have any place to stay.” She said heavily, Matt still didn’t understand her.
“Why don’t you stay with Sora?” Matt asked. He knew he was giving her a tough time but it was better for her to let others help, he knew that. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable. You know, Sora’s mom works all day, and then having to support another child, well, I don’t know. I don’t want to give troubles. If I could only find a place to stay this last semester, then my problems would be solved.” Mimi continued. “And why is that?” Matt asked. He was slowly getting her point.
“Because I just have to go through my last semester and then I enter college, then I’ll have to rent a room anyway.” It sounded so logic for Mimi, but it didn’t for Matt.
“Last semester? But you were a grade below us!” Matt wondered. It was true. Mimi was a year younger than everybody else, except for Izzy, they had the same age.
“Yeah, in New York, they moved me a grade up, and now I just have to finish senior high-school, and then I can enter college!” They were walking in front of T.K.’s building right now, they weren’t far now.
“Ah, so, if you find a place to stay this last semester, you could stay then.” Matt put the whole story in one sentence.
“Yeah, that’s pretty much my issue.” Mimi answered, still sad. They were swinging their hands up and down, and up again. Matt had another question.
“But why don’t you do your last semester in New York and then move back here for college, that would be another possibility.” Matt said hopeful. He didn’t wanted Mimi to leave. Not now that what they just had, was so knew and fresh and wonderful. She just shook her head.
“No I can’t do that. I was talking with my parents about that before I left. If I finish school In New York, they want me to stay there and finish college too. I convinced them that if I found a place to stay and finish the semester here, then they would gladly send me the money to pay a room in college. But they told me I wouldn’t find anyone. I don’t have any relatives in Odaiba, and then, why would I want to stay if not?” Mimi looked up at him. Both stopped. They were standing under a street light. She had this hopeless gaze in her eyes, which made Matt’s heart sink. And then suddenly, an Idea crossed Matt’s head. “You can stay with me!” He exclaimed cheering up. Mimi looked at him, eyes open wide.
“What?” Mimi asked him surprised. Matt clenched her hands and pulled them up to his chest. “Yes Mimi! Let’s do that, stay with me!” That last phrase had more than one meaning and Mimi knew it. She felt the same.
“I don’t know Matt, where would I sleep.” Mimi asked. She wouldn’t mind to sleep in the same room as he did, but, what would the others think?
“We have one free room, Mimi. It’s now filled with books and trash, but we can clean that away. It’s not big though… in any case, we could switch rooms if you don’t like it, I don’t mind.” Mimi sensed a little bit of desperation in his voice. He still held her hands close to his chest. She even thought she felt his heart pounding. She smiled almost pitifully.
“Please, Mi-chan.” Matt was practically begging her. And then he kneeled down on one knee. Mimi looked at him surprised. It looked as if he was going to propose, which, by the way, was ridiculous. He spread his left arm wide out, and held hers in his right.
“Mi-chan, would move in with me?” He asked her with his deepest, seductive voice. Mimi giggled, and then bend over and kissed him.
“Your so sweet, but… I would be someone else to worry about. I mean, another child, to feed and take care of and…” Matt jumped up and wrapped his arms tight around her small waist and pulled her close.
“Don’t worry, Mi-chan, I will take care of you now and until forever.” Mimi blushed and hugged him back.
“I know.” She whispered. They stood there in the embrace for a while, until he let her go. Matt looked at her endearingly.
“So, are you going to move in or aren’t you?” Matt asked stroking her cheek with is thumb. She smirked.
“There is still the food issue! I eat a lot!” She said crossing her arms. Matt took her right arm and lifted it and then made her spin around a few times.
“You have a way to good body to eat a lot!” She laughed and hugged him, before both of them continued their way.
“Well, I don’t eat that much, but I have very bizarre tastes!” Mimi said. She knew he couldn’t deny that because it was true, she had bizarre tastes! But Matt had already an answer.
“Well, don’t worry, for I, Yamato Ishida, chief cook, will try my best to satisfy your needs.” He made a fake bow and she laughed.
“Okay, I accept under two conditions.” Mimi spread her fingers in the peace-and-love sign.
“Whatever your heart desires, my love!” He said watching dreamily at the sky.
Mimi laughed again.
“Okay first, you are not going to give me your room, second you are going to ask you father his permission.” Mimi said it seriously, they started walking.
“Don’t worry Mi-chan, my father spends most of the time outside that he is not going to notice your presence. Besides, it’s going to be nice to finally have someone to eat with. Eating alone doesn’t even disserve the word “eating”.” Matt said it with a little hint of sadness behind. Mimi inquired a little more.
“Really? Doesn’t he spend any time with you?” Mimi asked surprised. She couldn’t imagine living in the same house with her parents and actually not seeing them.
“No, not really. He wakes up very early, rarely comes home for lunch and he is always back late. He often doesn’t even come back home.” His sadness was obvious. Mimi hooked her arm with his and leaned her head against his shoulder.
“That’s to bad, you know.” Mimi said, not knowing how she could comfort him. Matt noticed she had misinterpreted him.
“Oh, no Mi-chan, it’s not like that. You see, I miss my dad and all, and I hate to be alone, but I can’t tell him anything, you know?” Matt’s gaze focused on some distant point. Her silence made him understand he wasn’t explaining himself very well.
“You see, my dad’s only passion is his job. He loves it! And I think I’m big enough to take care of myself. So he is happy and I am happy.” He looked at her and let his arm wrap around her shoulder.
“And now that you are going to be with me every day and every night, my life is going to be complete!” She snuggled closer to him. Matt then suddenly stopped and turned around.
“Mi-chan, I have an idea!” He said and his eyes shone brightly.
“Okay, what?” Mimi asked a little startled at his sudden “Ideas” “Let’s keep us a secret.” Matt said excited. Mimi’s eyes flung open.
“WHAT! But why?” She asked sadly. Matt knew what she was thinking, so he quickly explained himself.
“No, no, it’s not what you are thinking. I just have an Idea of how to tell the others, that’s all.” Mimi eyed him a little insecure, but his warm smile, made all her doubts go away.
“Alright, Yama-chan, but it better be good!” She said pointing at him with her index finger.
“I promise it will, but you’ll have to stop calling me Yama-chan in front of the others, eh?” He looked at her with played seriousness. Mimi put on a man-you-are-so-mean! face.
“Oh, alright.” She murmured, crossing her arms across her chest. He hugged her and then his gaze fell on his feet.
“Hey, look, my shoes are dry!” He exclaimed and jumped around. Mimi laughed at him. And as he was going to cross the street *splash*. He looked down. Mimi, started to laugh uncontrollably. He had just stepped into a pond. He looked up at her.
“Well, I guess we have to go to my place anyway!” Matt grinned and hand in hand they walked towards his place. The sound his wet shoes produced was hilarious, and Mimi tripped god knows how many times. Her stomach of laughing so much and her eyes were teary.
They arrived at his place, both laughing and they tripped like ten times, going up the stairs. It was now about nine forty five and many people were sleeping already. So Matt tried to shh Mimi but she would burst out in laughter, and when she then became a hic up, it was impossible to stop laughing.
At his apartment, Matt looked for the key and he and it was impossible for him to find the right key. And when Matt then finally found the right key to his apartment, he couldn’t bring himself to enter the key in the lock, his he couldn’t hold his hand steadily because of the laughter. And when he finally managed to enter the key, he rested for a while against the door. And then suddenly, the door opened and Matt fell into his house. Mimi looked startled at him.
“YAMA…to.” She managed to control her in the last moment, as she noticed who were in the apartment. Pretty much… everyone. Matt picked himself up and looked around in the apartment. His eyes widened.
“Man I didn’t know, thirteen people would fit in our living room!” He exclaimed.
Just imagine all the Digidestined plus his mom and dad, in his living room…
crowdie isn’t it? Everybody stared at him, then Mimi, then him again. And then his mother ran into him and hugged him and started to cry. Matt’s eyes flung open. Everybody were now standing. Matt hugged his mom back and then slightly pushed her away. She looked at him and then slapped him, making Matt’s head turn, and then she cried again.
“Never do that again, you here me Yamato Ishida!” Matt had to admit, he feared his mom when she was angry. He took a step back, rubbing his cheek, and then his father talked.
“See? I told you he would be fine!” He said coolly. Matt’s mom turned fiercely around.
“You be silent! How could have even let him skip school! What kind of father are you?” Matt’s mom yelled at him, his dad grinned. He knew she start scolding at him and not at his son. Matt appreciated that sacrifice from his dad.
T.K. tried to calm down his mother, but she was now having a temper tantrum and wouldn’t stop until she was tired out. T.K. got mad as his mother for yelling at him without reason and was about to yell at her, if it weren’t for Kari who tried to calm him down Then, somehow, a big discussion started between Davis and Jolei and Izzy and Sora tried to separate them. Tai kept standing at the door, he had opened it before when he had heard voices, rubbing his forehead, he had an terrible headache with all the noise.
Matt sneaked into his room quickly took of his shoes and wet socks. After looking for his other shoes for a while he remembered that they had to be at the front. He walked back out and the discussion was still going on. He looked for his shoes at the entrance, but they weren’t there. The noise was getting on his nerves and then he finally couldn’t stand it anymore.
“COULD YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP!!!!!” He yelled, and silence filled the room. He looked angrily around. Finally he saw his snickers behind the door, he put them on quickly, while everybody kept looking at him. When he was finish he looked around.
“Okay, I’m going to the movies now, does anyone want to join us?” Mimi frowned, it was an totally impropriate question at that moment. But it had it expected effect. The Digidestined looked at each other and then all nodded.
“Yeah sure, why not.” “I think it’s an good Idea.” “What’s on?” Those were the most frequently asked questions […] and everybody asked it at the same as they were walking out the door. Matt was the last one in leaving, when everybody were outside he turned around to face his parents. “Dad, Mimi is moving in.” He said is more like and advertise rather than a question. His dad smiled and nodded. His mother looked angrily at his father for allowing such thing. Matt had almost closed the door, when he looked back in.
“Oh, and mom?” She turned around to look at him mad. Matt smiled ironically.
“Thanks for the slap.” He said and grinned, he knew his mother barely remember what she did when she was mad. Leaving he closed the door behind him. He heard his mom asking his father surprised:
“I slapped him?” Matt could imaging his father lit a cigarette and then nod importantly.
During the whole way towards the theatre, everybody threw questions towards Matt and Mimi, and both refused to tell what actually happened. When they didn’t give up then Matt said:
“Let’s just say, I found my muse.” He kept himself from looking at Mimi, he didn’t wanted the others to get suspicious. They had to comfort themselves with that answer, and the issue was never touched again.
The next days, they barely saw Matt. He was to busy composing and rehearsing for his concert, that he had barely time to see the others. Just Mimi, of course, who spent most of the time hanging around at his place.
It was Saturday night. The big concert was finally there. And as Mimi had said before, they were all sitting in the front row, expectant, awaiting their friends big entrance.
“I wonder why this is taking so long.” Sora asked Mimi. Mimi’s nerves were killing her.
“Don’t know.” She answered and as if that was the take of signal, the lights went out and only a dim light on stage was there. Matt and his band appeared as dark shadows on the scenery. The crow went wild and the Digidestined were so proud of being Matt’s friend.
The band played some known songs which everybody sung. “I turn around and I can see what’s behind me…” Under many other refrains. Then the new songs appeared, which, *wonder, wonder*, Mimi could sing very well.
The last song was about to start. Matt took the microphone, and the crowd went wild. He smiled, his forehead covered with sweat, he was tired but he loved to sing, so it didn’t really matter to him.
“This last song, I would like to dedicate to someone special.” Matt said and he saw in the front row, how all his friends looked up in surprise. Matt had already dedicated a song to his friends, so they were disconcerted. Even Mimi looked at him with big eyes. Matt smiled when he saw her, he continued.
“This song goes to the girl who stole my heart.” Matt said smiling warmly at Mimi and pressing his right hand on his heart. The girls cried in excitement. Nobody had heard of Matt having girlfriend or something like that, so they were all hopeful that he might pick them. The Digidestined looked at each other.
“Matt has a girlfriend?!” Tai exclaimed unbelieving. Matt loved the confusion. Matt walked towards the edge of the scenery and crouched and hold out his right hand.
“Mimi, would you come up here?” Mimi smiled and blushed. She uncrossed her legs and walked towards the scenery. Matt helped her up on stage. The crowd went wild. The man’s mouth dropped, the women cried, and the Digidestined didn’t know what to do. Many opened the mouth to say something but not a word came out. Mimi was unbelievingly nervous, and blushed until she couldn’t longer. So that was what he wanted to do! That’s why it was a secret! Mimi finally understood what he wanted to do.
“This is for you, Mi-chan.” He said, and the band begun to play.

I was walking down the street, In my worst mood I was looking for something to satisfy my need But nothing, did me good.

And then I saw you Standing all alone And you were just having the worst day of your life too And we kept walking along

And then you brought me back to live And I will never forget what you said that time

Hey hello have you ever been in love? I’ve been searching for you for so long Hey hello do you want to walk with me? I can see you have been searching for me too.

And now years have past And when I look back I don’t regret that we spent together the last Moments of our track

And then you brought me back to life And I will never forget what we thought that time.

Hey hello have we ever been in love? We have been searching for so long Hey hello, can we walk hand in hand? It just seems we’ve been together for so long

It just seems we’ll be together for long.

The song, was over, and the crowd loved it. A new hit. Matt put away the microphone, and pulled Mimi close to him.
“…It just seems, we’ve been together for so long…” He whispered one more time. He was holding her hands against his chest. Mimi smiled, tears of happiness in her eyes. Matt closed his eyes and kissed her. A tear rolled down Mimi’s cheek. He stopped kissing her. She smiled softly.
“…It just seems, we’ll be together for long…” She said. And as they both hugged each other, the crowd went wild. As they released each other, they noticed the noise the crowd was making, making them realizing that they weren’t alone. Matt’s left hand slipped down to her right and twined his fingers with hers, as they turned around to face the crowd. Matt lifted his right hand were he hold the microphone.
“Thank you, and good night!”

Epilogue
[This is exactly after the concert, just a little fun, hehehe ;)]

“Thank you, and good night!” He yelled, lifted his right arm up in the air, and the lights went out, leaving only the ones through the exit doors on. The band disappeared back stage. Matt left Mimi for a while and crouched at the edge of the stage.
“Hey, guys!” He yelled over the noise The Digidestined turned around to face him.
“Come up here, it’s faster this way out.” He went back and helped them up. All of them disappeared with him backstage. There, backstage, was Matt’s band, opening coke bottles to celebrate. When they saw Matt walking in with Mimi under his arm, they cheered up!
“Hey guys, there you are! We were wondering what took you so long!” They handed Matt a coke bottle and Mimi another one. The other three guys were grinning. One said to Matt.
“So that’s the girl you have been smitten with.” The guy grinned and looked up and then back down at her.
“Well I guess anybody would.” Matt pointed playfully at him. “Leave her alone, she is mine!” He said with a playful threat and slung an arm around her waist.
“Yeah, I know, I know. I’m just kidding, Miss, sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.” The guy said and bowed apologetic. Mimi laughed amused “Don’t worry, and please, call me…” Mimi was abruptly cut of by Matt.
“…your highness!” He said, lifting one finger in the air, trying to look important. Everybody laughed and Mimi punched him playfully in the stomach. “Mimi, call me Mimi.” She said and smiled softly.
“Okay, then Mimi it is!” The drummer said and lifted his bottle, as everyone else did, and they were just about to make a toast, when the Digidestined stormed in.
“Hey guys! Here grab a coke!” Matt said and gave everyone a bottle. They talked for a while, the Digidestined had a lot of questions and Matt and Mimi answered them patiently. The other guys of Matt’s band, left to celebrate with their fans and asked the others to go too, but they decided they would rather stay. When they were left alone, Tai lifted his coke and said:
“I want to make a toast!” Matt, was sitting on the couch Mimi under his arm, Tai was standing next to Sora behind the bar (a bar without liquor… they are under age, man!), Davis, Izzy, Cody and Jolei were sitting at the bar and T.K. and Kari were on the other couch.
Everybody lifted their “drinks” and waited for Tai to continue.
“A toast for my best friend Matt and Mimi, that they might have the time of their lives together, and to all of us, that we all stick together.” Mimi and Matt kissed briefly and everybody “woohooed” and “yeahed” to that. They all wanted to same.
“Cheers!”
