All music for trade is not for profit. No 2 for 1 or money exchanges. The only exception is for overseas trades. I'll accept extra disc/s (equal to return postage) & I'll pay return postage back to you. That seems to work easiest in my humble experience for overseas arrangements, due to postage differences. This is supposed to be for fun & great music. I do not make, nor have any desire to make money off of the music. Free exchange of trade, or B&P only! Any trades set up through my BBD & chat are to be 1 for 1 only & no 2 fors in B&P deals. No trading of commercially available releases. If It Is available purchase It from the artist.
I clean my tapedecks regularly. I have two Sony Single decks, a Sony doubledeck & a Luxman double. I use maxell XLII blanks, am flexible on cases & jcards let me know your mind. & follow the rules that everyone generally uses: Use new tapes. Ffwd & rew virgin tapes. No fast dubs. No dolby. No auto reverse. I use bubble mailers & would appreciate the same. If you must use padded mailers put tapes in a baggie or wrap so padding dust does not get into tapes. Do not write on jcards if they are sent, put setlists & all info available for the show on a scrap piece of paper. Try to do fast turnaround. Let you know if there is a problem, & am honest. If there is a problem w/ tapes I will make it right. I would expect the same courtesies from you!
I now have a HP 9200 SCSI CDWR. I can burn only to cdr from cdr at moment. I use EAC to extract & Adaptec to burn. I prefer to use Mitsui or Kodak Silver or Golds. Will accept blues only if I know that is what you're sending & that it be TDK, Verbatim or Imation. If you are going with blue-dyes, I'll use Imations. Again, I prefer Mitsui Silver. No cheap no name brands!!! I've also experienced problems with Maxell (anybody else?) I do not send jewel cases. Instead I put in slipcover & send protected. This cuts down on mailing costs. Always include either a note in pkg. with setlist/source info, email links to same or covers or scans of artwork. I'll do same. Seems like no one worries about this sort of thing now that we all are getting burners. These things were/are a given when trading for analog cassette & should IMHO, stand in the digital age as a responsible trading practice! Feel free to discuss any details you might want to add, clarify, etc...... Communication, I think is key in trading! Can't say that enough. The better details are worked out beforehand the less dissapointment &/or misunderstanding by either party involved. Again, this is supposed to be fun! Do not send using fiber filled mailers! No exceptions! Use bubble mailers. I'm sorry but if B&P (cass or cdr) is sent in fiber filled I will not put the tape/disc into my system because of dust issues. Please don't use 'em. Ever!
For B&Ps, please set up trade before sending tapes/cdrs! Send blanks for dub & a self addressed postage paid (STAMPS, No meter strips, no exceptions) bubble mailer enclosed in a manilla envelope or another bubble mailer (This is kind of a waste of a bubble mailer, but I will reuse it.) addressed to me. Do not close inside mailer. I will close it when returning it. You can send recycled bubble mailers if they aren't in too bad shape. I have no problem adding a little tape if necessary. That said, new inner bubble mailers are way easier on me at this end & will still tape for my peace O' mind. Always, enclose a note saying which shows tapes/cds are for & your personal info. Any questions about any of the rules please ask! Any additional things you would like to add, again, please let me know.
P.S. When packing tapes please either wrap in paper to keep movement to a minimum or use rubber bands (if you can) on two tapes back to back & through spindle hole to keep reels tight & movement to a minimum. Of course the rubberband thing doesn't apply if sending cases. Also (as if that isn't already enough) If tapes/cdrs I send you are broken in transit I will replace, but I expect the same from you should mine arrive broken. This does not apply to cases (if used) only tapes/cdrs!
OK enough of that let's get back to the fun part, The music!
