Tiamal "Well, what do you think?" Tiamal asked the young boy, holding out the tiny spun-glass statue of a firelizard in flight. A Sr. Apprentice Glass Smith, Tiamal was now wishing that he'd become a jewlsmith instead, due to the fact that their works were usually more creative. "It's pretty," The boy whispered, running his slightly dirty finger over the wingsail. "I'll give you a sixteenth mark for it," He said suddenly, holding out the mark in his grubby palm. Tiamal smiled at the little boy. He only looked to be about six or seven to Tiamal's fifteen Turns. There was no way that a little kid could of gotten much more money than that, and although the piece had been stamped for sale, he nodded, handing the little boy the statue and taking the sixteenth mark in return. Running his fingers through his sandy-brown hair, Tiamal wondered what he should do about telling the Journeyman Glass Smith that was his tutorer about the glass statue. It had taken Tiamal the better part of a sevenday to finish it, and now he'd just sold it for a sixteenth mark. Thinking of a way to explain this, Tiamal decided that the typical "I lost it" thing might work, for he did have a bad tendancy to loose things. "Well, then, I guess that I'd better..." He stopped short, looking up to see a bluerider standing in front of him with a weird smile on his face. "Excuse me, sir," Tiamal muttered quietly, walking past the bluerider, but he held out a hand to stop him. "I hate to be rough, young man, but my blue thinks that you might make a good Candidate," He said, smiling at Tiamal. "And he's never been wrong, either. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of where your supervisor is, whether it be the..." Glancing at Tiamal's shoulder knots, he finished, "Master GlassCrafter, or whomever teaches you." Pointing the bluerider in the direction where Eolmar, his teacher, probably was, Tiamal silently rejoiced. Not only was he going to leave, but he might ride a dragon someday! And, he reflected with a slight amusement, he wasn't going to have to worry about explaining the glass statue to Eolmar, either. A few Sevendays later...
