She lent her talents to productions as diverse as The Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wall, Cats, Saturday Night Fever, Dirty Dancing and Grease in which she performed the leading role of Sandy for record audiences last summer. While all this was going on she found the time for singing and releasing singles with the band Fantasia and was one of the presenters on the popular television show "Ó".
In 1995, when performing in the Rocky Horror Show Selma met Thorvaldur Bjarni Thorvaldsson from the band Todmobile, an accomplished musician and songwriter, who was the musical director of the show. Since then they have worked intermittently together but nothing was released until 1998 when Thorvaldur was writing songs for the Icelandic film No Trace and decided to use some of the songs he and Selma had been working on. The songs were big hits in Iceland and as Selma was receiving a lot of attention at the time as Sandy in the musical Grease, she was the logical choice to represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest for 1999. There was never any doubt in her mind who her songwriter should be.....
