A golden bust of King Saint Ladislaus born 1040 died 1095, whose relics are enshrined  inside here ,  patron of the basilica , founder of the Oradea archdiocese in 1093, famous for his courage and piety in European history . Today he is also the patron Saint of Hungary .

The St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Basilica , located the palace`s courtyard is the largest basilica in Romania , before a church , now a raised in rank trough the personal intervention of  Pope John Paul the Second in 1992 .
