Cork Art Deco architecture      Exterior Turners Cross, statue small image


Cork City has some interesting things to see.

Firstly and lastly, do not miss the Church of Christ the King, Turners Cross, it is by prairie school architect Barry Byrne, who worked with Frank Lloyd Wright. This church dating from 1931  still looks distinctly moderne in appearance, with a monumental sculpture by John Storrs. The facade of the Savoy Cinema Cork is in art deco style. The city library building  - below is vaguely deco
