Home of the Yellow Box? About the most American looking of the deco buildings left in Dublin it was built about 1932. Kodak Ireland used this building, which is located in the inner Dublin suburb of Rathmines, near the church, as their warehouse to supply the photographic needs of the Irish market for many years. The building was then painted a dark cream in colour, not their trademark yellow colour, so well known from their film boxes. New occupants repainted it this rather attractive combination of basic white with blue detailing, giving a little touch of Miami Beach to suburban Dublin. The new paint job has also made the corner tower look a little less heavy. Update - March 2000- Sadly a new paint scheme has been applied to this building which is rather less interesting. The building has also been extensively refurbished internally.
