Unbuilt Ireland
One of the most interesting unbuilt projects from the art deco period must be the design for the airport terminal for the proposed Cork City Airport.
This project was actively pursued during the 1930's and even during the war, with a number of sites being considered for both an airport for landplanes and a seaplane base.
At some stage during the late 1930's this attractive design was
circulated for a proposed terminal building at Cork.
In the event the airport was not built until 1961 and the terminal is to a completely different design.
