Soon I will place a picture of our place here in the sunny Okanagan valley...soon
My parents homestead (above...where I grew up) in Revelstoke. Nakeyta the Akita watching me taking pictures and keeping the bears away.
Howdy!! Welcome!!!. My name is Donna (and the guy in the fire truck is Bryan...my better half). Not only do I love basenji's. I love music!!! From A to Z (Abba, Boston to ZZ Top). I love music from rock to bluegrass to polka's to country 2-steppin & line dancing. Next to music, RV travel (camping) is high on my favourite list. Photography is also a much loved hobby (especialy taking pictures of our basenji's). My favourite movies are "Pirates of the Caribean" and "Shanghai Noon". And, my favorite actor is (of course), Johnny Depp. |

Christmas 98 when the "boyz" were 2
Bryan trying to work | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I was lucky to have grown up on farm a few miles from Revelstoke, BC Canada in the mountains). I had 2 horses Jody (QH paint) and Fancy Dancer (arabian/welsh) which kept me busy along with corralling (babysitting) my herd of 4 brothers.
Bryan and I lived in Vernon till 89, when we moved to Penticton..home of beaches and peaches (in the south Okanagan Valley). I worked at the Penticton Lakeside Resort hotel for 5 years and was lucky to meet several famous folks like former US president Mr George Bush Senior, Jim Pattison, Kurt Russel (whom is SO good looking in real life), Mike Reno (lead singer from Loverboy), The Irish Rovers (they are hillarious in person...love thier accents), Ray Charles,The Steve Miller Band and tons and tons of Hockey players whom came to play year after year in the Andy Moog golf charity classic. I worked as a reservations agent so was one of 3 people whom knew these folks would be staying at our hotel and I had to keep many many secrets as to ensure privacy that our guests enjoyed. Bryan worked as a Greyhound bus driver and I often joined him on trips all over BC & Alberta. We got the chance to see the 88 winter Olympics when Bryan was working out of Calgary. That was pretty cool! |

In the early 90's we discovered RV travel. Well, we had always gone camping but in 91 we purchased our first 5th wheel trailer and went beyond BC to, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, Washington, Alberta and recently to Montana.
I am taking an online course with Canscribe. I am working toward becoming a medical transcriptionist. There is so much to learn, and I am enjoying this. If anyone has an intrest in the medical field, this is a great course to take....and Canscribe folks are wonderful.

Nakeyta teasing Eeyore for she knows she is safe in the snow. Earlier Eeyore jumped in after her and was buried. This snow photo was taken in Revelstoke where I grew up. Winter often means a great deal of snow falling in one night (3 feet or more). That meant, at times that the roads were closed. The ski hill was a 10 minutes walk/ski/snowshoe away (virtually in our back yard)...how convenient ;o) Here in the Okanagan valley, we don't receive nearly as much snow. But when it snows, we dress Roo and Eeyore for much loved fun wallks in the snow.
