No leads in last week's weapons find
JAKARTA (JP): Police have no leads on who dumped dozens of weapons and
thousands of rounds of ammunition in a river near a turnpike heading toward
Soekarno-Hatta airport last week, a police officer says.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Ketut Yoga said Tuesday police needed to
examine all of the weapons and ammunition before carrying out any further
investigation.
"We have not come to any conclusion about the ammunition or the weapons.
Therefore, we have not named any suspects," Ketut said.
Police discovered dozens of weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition in the
river on Sept. 8, after receiving a report from scavengers.
Police refused to link the weapons and ammunition to a weapons cache discovered in
the house of the late deputy assistant to the Army's logistics chief, Brig. Gen.
Kusmayadi. (**)
