Bomb finding sparks panic
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Residents of Lifuleu village were shocked Saturday
evening when they realized a 9-year-old child had found an unexploded bomb in the
area.
East Nusa Tenggara Police officers rushed to the site near Tablolong hamlet in Lifuleu
village, about 20 kilometers to the south of Kupang to remove the small bomb.
Bomb squad deputy head First Insp. Amran Allobagi said police believed the 20 by 10
centimeter bomb was the kind used by fishermen in illegal fishing activities.
"We're still investigating the case, including tracking down its owner and finding out
the purpose of the bomb," he said. -- JP
