THE SITUATION IN AMBON/MOLUCCAS - Last Report

It has been a long time since you received the regular reports we were used to send
out during and on the conflict in the Moluccas . We never stopped it officially, but after
last May 29, there was hardly any further development or any happening to bother you
with. Those who nevertheless wanted to be informed on any happening in the
Moluccas , probably found their way via websites like www.oocities.org/hoelaliejoe.
Now that Christmas and New Year are approaching, it may be an appropriate
opportunity to take leave from our readers, whilst expressing our sincere gratitude for
the interest in the Moluccas case, often accompanied by more detailed contact with
the crisis centre in Ambon .
We are grateful that the Moluccas conflict has come to an end now, based on mutual
understanding and readiness to forgive. If we are able come to terms one with another
and reestablish peaceful cooperation, so may this set a simple example for other
areas in this world: that peace is often closer at hand than assumed.
We wish our readers and friends a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.
