Bali victims in legal action against terror's money-men
Australian victims of the Bali bombings are joining a United States-led class action
against the financiers of Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda terrorist network.
The action, lodged in Washington last year by the American victims of the September
11 attacks, has been broadened to include the victims of the attacks in Bali last
October.
Six Australians have already agreed to join the class action - five of them lost family
members in the bombings and one has a relative with serious injuries.
U-S lawyers organising the action say that instead of compensation, their main goal
is to bankrupt terrorism by stripping Al Qaeda supporters of their assets.
The Bali blasts, which killed more than 190-people including 88 Australians, have
been blamed on the Jemaah Islamiyah network - which has links to Al Qaeda.
