The hunt for Jemaah Islamiah members continues
Australia's Federal Police Commissioner says intelligence agencies such as
Australia's security intelligence organisation are tracking potential sleeper cells of
Jemaah Islamiah in South-east Asia.
Jemaah Islamiah is blamed for the Bali bombings last October and is believed to have
links to the terrorist network Al Qaeda.
Mick Keelty says the investigation into the blasts has uncovered more intelligence on
J-I than ever before.
"There may well be other people out there who sympathise or share the ideology of
Jemaah Islamiah, but how well organised there are what their capacity is to mount
any sort of operation remains to be seen"
"It reinforces the need for police leaders in the region to work together to try and rid
the region of Jemaah Islamiah."
