FBI question two civilians over Timika ambush
JAKARTA (JP): Two members of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) team
investigating last year ambush in Papua that claimed two US nationals questioned
two locals at a police station in Mimika on Thursday, Antara reported.
The two civilians were questioned through an interpreter, just like two other civilians
who were questioned a day before. They were accompanied by a police officer.
Seven FBI members arrived in Papua Monday to investigate the shooting of a bus
carrying employees of PT Freeport Indonesia in Timika last August.
The FBI officers plan to seek clarification of evidence collected by Indonesian police
investigators so far.
Indonesia has invited the FBI to come to the country to investigate the case. Police
alleged military involvement in the ambush, that killed two American teachers and an
Indonesian.
