International Christian Concern Seeks Advocates On Behalf Of
Indonesian Pastor And Human Rights Leader
International Christian Concern (ICC) requests advocacy on behalf of Rev. Rinaldy
Damanik. Rev. Damanik, an Indonesian pastor and human rights leader, was arrested
in Jakarta on September 9, 2002 on charges of carrying illegal weapons in Central
Sulawesi. His trial opened on February 3, 2003. The charges have since been
changed to provoking violence.
Contrary to these baseless charges, Rev. Damanik is known as a man of peace and
an advocate of reconciliation. In the most recent turn of events, Damanik was forced
to attend a hearing on February 24 despite suffering a liver ailment. Please write a
letter of concern to the Indonesian Embassy at the following address:
