Jubilee Campaign: Indonesian Pastor On Trial
Rinaldy Damanik, noted pastor and humanitarian aid worker, is on trial in Palu,
Indonesia on a dubious weapons possession charge. A Jubilee Campaign USA team
recently returned from a trip to Palu where they attended the first day of witness
testimony. While in Palu, the Jubilee team met with local leaders, Damanik's defense
team, and with the head judge. They also visited Damanik in jail and were allowed to
attend the prison's Sunday church service. Many sources reported that Damanik is
being used as a scapegoat for the violence that has plagued the region since 1998.
Jubilee Campaign USA will continue to monitor the trial of Rev. Damanik to insure that
procedures are followed and justice is found. Please keep Rev. Damanik in your
