Jussie's report on Round 10, 1999/2000

The Men

As team manager, I probably should have realised that we could finish on top with a good performance in roun 10, but I didn't. It was simply a case of a very solid team doing what they have been doing all year and letting nature take its course. In fact it is all the more remarkable to think that we made top spot even with the manager borrowing all sorts of gear to get a 4x400 team on the track. Sorry for how slow it was, folks!

The performance of the night was probably Liam Wallis' run in the 110m hurdles. Liam has been slowly building up to a big one and had pulled a fast one out on Thursday. We wish him all the best in his search for a WJ qualifier.

Nick Baltas threw well in the javelin and only underlined our depth in the event. Without a shot putter and pole vaulter, it is fair to say that a 14 point loss to Glenhuntly was a very good effort as they were on their way to picking up their fifth straight win and a spot in the finals.

All in all, it is a great feeling to be in the finals and I would like to thank everyone for their help throughout the season. Thanks also to those who came out and enjoyed a pizza or Souva after the relay.

Tell all your friends about the finals and lets get a bit of support out on the track. Thanks again to everyone, especially to Andre for his work at the track and on the web page.

Cheers, Justin
