More info on the Results Page. Jussie's report on Round 9, 1999/2000 The Men A resounding victory of competition hot-shots Essendon, was a great boost as we secured our spot in the finals. A decent result would have done it for us, but a lot of quality performances made it a lay down misere. The highlight of the night was a super run in the 3000mSteeple by Tony Wilson. Tony volunteered to run and see how he ended up, and 9 minutes and 35 seconds later he had won our competition. Thanks a hep, Tony, but that does mean you are likely to get landed with the job come finals time! Some really good sprinting from the usual suspects got us off to a really good start and the quality of our sprinters is getting better and better each week. Andrew Jones put in some hard yards towards the end of the 1500m to qualify, something that is always appreciated. As has been the case all season, it was a very well rounded competition by Bayside that kept us rolling along while other teams struggled to fill the spots. Nfa, Matt brown and Simon were out there doing their usual stuff and Brendan Cole is positively flying at the moment and with a fit Stuart Laidlaw, should see us with an unbeatable 400 hurdles team. My memory is fading quickly so this isn't going to be the longest piece, suffice to say that we are in the finals and it is a lot better than sweating out on the last round as we did last season. Cheers, Justin
